Buy Energy Efficient Crawl Space Vent Now
This product is nothing more or less than it is currently being advertised on June 30th, 2011. As the first reviewer pointed out it isplastic as opposed to metal but feels and appears durable. The screening could be heavier but is sufficient for the small house I am
placing it in. It is a breeze to install provided you have the appropriate sized opening.
My only complaint is that the Winter Door sealer plate will require trimming to fit flush. It can be trimmed easily enough so overall
I am still very satisifed with the product.

these vents more than doubled the area of my crawl space vents. standing in front of it i can sometimes feel the breeze coming through. bringing me peace-of-mind that my crawlspace is free of nasties.they're of fine quality. the rods that hold it in place are about 8" long, an inch short of my wall depth, but that problem was easily fixed by going to the home improvement store and purchasing 36" long rods with identical threading and cutting them into threes.
the other nice thing about them is that since there is a sizeable 'lip' around the vent, i didn't have to be too precise on cutting the whole into the wall. the lip accounted for any imperfections and mismeasuring on my part.
i've only had them for a few months and can't say anything as to how long they'll last. my old vents were all metal and lasted 70+ years. i doubt these will last that long. This product was not recommended for this region by the manufacturer due to coldweather but I was dealing with an irregular opening which was part of foundation of a crawl space underneath my bedroom. I ordered the product and had it inspected by the mason who ultimately did the installation and he was satisfied that the material was durable enough to sustain the elements and it also provided a covering for the winter months in this region. He installed the unit with minimal effort and it instantly improved the look of what was an unappealing area due to a previous shoddy installation of metal mesh with a bonding agent.
