Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier with TiO2 and UV light

Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier with TiO2 and UV lightI am currently using this in an apartment sized bathroom. The bathroom has no ventilation or even AC so all the moisture just sits in there. It always smelled dank and musty in there, no matter what cleaning products I would use or deodorizers I'd setup in there. Within 24 hours of setting this little guy up(Sits on my bathroom sink countertop.) The smell was gone and it already had well over a cup of water in the tank. It also comes with a thin clear drain hose that allows it to run continuously without having to empty the tank. It has been running for about 2 months now without a single problem.

I only can see a few issues with this device.

1. To me it is loud. Very loud. While this isn't a problem for me due to where it is at, if you are looking to put this somewhere where you need or want quiet like a bedroom, I'd try to find something else. preferably fan-less if possible. (I can drown it out very easily with all the entertainment electronics I run throughout the apartment, but I could imagine it being a problem for someone trying to sleep with this thing running in the same room.

2. I don't care for the tank design. The one time I tried to empty the tank I spilled a good amount of the water into the machine just trying to pull the tank out. So I'd same make sure it's unplugged before emptying the tank. Also the hose comes off easily when I move the unit around which leads to another problem I have with the design. The hose connects to the very top of the tank, meaning the tank has to be full before it starts to drain through the hose. I can see why they did it this way but I would have preferred an option to go without a tank at all.

Of course they are just minor gripes to me. The product does its job well and I have yet to find anything else even close price-wise that can compete.

I purchased this baby for a small, humid bedroom in a very humid climate to help the A/C unit remove moisture. It removes maybe a cup a day which probably helps overall, but does not make a tremendous difference in comfort level. It works steadily, but is probably too small for the task.

UPDATE: After a few months on effort, it began to make a loud, constant noise so I discontinued use.

UPDATE #2: Last summer was so hot and humid that I decided to give this unit one more chance. It takes a little finessing, but it is possible to stop the noise if you keep jiggling and thumping it. Once it runs quietly for a minute or two, it is usually good to go until you turn it off to empty the reservoir.

Buy Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier with TiO2 and UV light Now

I purchased this mini dehumidifier after my "Eva-Dry" lasted less than a year. It was great for the short time I had it (3 months!) Yesterday the motor started a loud rumble and sounds as if it is about to grind itself to a halt.

This is my last dehumidifier purchase. Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier is a waste of money.

Since American corporations insist on having their products "manufactured" in Chinaappliances seldom last a year. I refuse to keep buying inferior products over and over again.

Now I shop for products that are physically made In the US, or Germany.

I bought this dehumidifier for a 200feet square college room. It sucks out nothing, takes at least a week of non stop air-sucking before it fills up with water. Completely useless and ridiculous! Instead we bout a 50pint dehumidifier which is only two times the price and it divided by two the humidity in less than a day. It took out more water in 5h than the Sunpentown in one week.

Want Sunpentown Mini Dehumidifier with TiO2 and UV light Discount?

I purchased this piece of garbage from Discounts Jungle. With a 1-yr warranty, I thought "Great!" It stopped working after 6 months and when I contacted the seller today, they said "Too bad. We only give you 30 days. Contact the manufacturer." I contacted Sunpentown, the manufacturer, and they said "Discounts Jungle and Amazon.com are selling USED items and we won't honor the warranty..." So if you want cheap stuff that doesn't work, buy from Discounts Jungle and Sunpentown and Amazon.

Since the site says "Shipped and sold by Amazon.com," I expected Amazon to step up. Wrong. I got a $60 credit but that's all.

If I could give it a LESS than one star rating, I would. I DO give Discounts Jungle and Sunpentown a negative 10 rating for selling inferior products and not standing behind their stated warranty.

I am really, REALLY disappointed in Amazon. I have never had a problem with Amazon before but this will make me think twice about buying from them again.
