Enviracaire Up to 99.999% Germ Free EWM-220

We've had several of these in the bedrooms of our house for several years and they have worked very well for us. You can see how well the mineral pads work after just a month because they become brown and stiff with mineralization. I have yet to notice any of the white dust other humidifiers can leave behind. I believe that the ultraviolet light must also work because the water in the tanks has never gotten musty or stale. Overall I would definitely recommend this humidifer (actually I have). The two large tanks will usually last for at least 48 hours when the humidifier is set to medium so you don't have to fill them every day, which is nice. I have never had to do an in-depth vinegar cleaning as described in the other review and they have worked just fine for us. I have also never had to replace the ultraviolet light bulb (which is kind of pricey but can be purchased here). (There is an indicator light which will tell you when it needs to be replaced.)

Overall I'm happy with this humidifier. However, it is noisy, after all it's boiling water so you hear a tea kettle boiling while it is on. There are two controls. One is On/Off the other adjusts the humidity, that is, it goes from boiling all the time to boiling intermittently, more frequently to less frequently. It is easy to fill as the two containers have easy to grasp handles and flat tops to rest in the bottom of a deep sink while they are filled. It uses round fabric pads above the heating plate to absorb minerals which only work somewhat if you have heavy mineralized water. Cleaning is a bit of a chore. The owners manual recommends vinegar to dissolve the mineralization followed by bleach.

There is an indicator light which shows when the humidifier is on. It is extremely bright for such a small light and I made a flap out of a band-aid and stuck it over it because it was too bright at night.

There is a UV light bulb which is supposed to kill germs.
