Aprilaire #4004 In-Line Strainer

• For use with Aprilaire models 110, 112, 220, 224, 350, 360, 400, 440, 445, 445A, 448, 550, 550A, 558, 560, 560A, 568, 600, 700, 760, 760A and 768.
• The In-Line Strainer is a tiny strainer that fits in the inlet fitting of the water solenoid valve which allows water to enter your humidifier or stops the water flow.
• It is designed to keep debris from entering the solenoid valve and should be checked annually for the build-up of minerals and grit.
• Replace as necessary.

I received a gold colored in line strainer, which is a different shape, but it does fit in our Aprilaire Humidifier 110 model (about 20 years old). It's installed, don't know how well it will work yet. The company said it was an official replacement for the black #4004 strainer shown on Amazon.

I did not receive the black strainer pictured, but rather the metal, bronze colored version of the strainer which fit perfectly into the inlet water line for my Aprilaire 550. No issues so far.

Ordered this item for my Aprilaire 700 Humidifier thinking it was the black strainer pictured (they may have removed this pic after my complaint) but it was the short, gold one that doesn't fit.

I purchased this because the April Aire whole house humidifer I had purchased had no inline filter. This appears to be a size that may fit, but it is a metal, bronze colored materal rather than at plastic strainer seen in the photo. I'm not sure I can use it and i have not taken the time to return it yet.
