I don't know what the problem is, but this humidifier will not stay on. When we turn it on, it starts producing "steam". You can actually see it come out. Then a few minutes later, it stops. It won't go on when we push the button again. But if we leave it for hours, we can get it to go on again, but just for a short time. And it's not that the room has reached some level of humidity. We live in the desert. We are sending it back. I don't know if it's just this unit or if I should try a completely different brand but we are not happy at all. I will add that I was able to return it easily for a full refund without having to pay for shipping. Thanks for that.
I left it on overnight and woke up this morning to water damage on the dresser where the unit was placed on and a soaked carpet right below it.

We owned two humidifiers prior to this one... both bought for our first daughter and neither lasted more then a month. I ended up giving up on humidifiers despite the fact that my wife was pushing me to get one for our second daughter. She rarely had any illnesses the first two years, so I put it off as long as I could. When I finally got this one, it came at the absolute perfect time as my youngest daughter had a cold and was waking up in the middle of the night coughing. I put the Anton humidifier in her room the night we received it and not only did she sleep through the night, she didn't cough the entire following day. We used it the following night, with the same success, then left it off the third night... she woke up at 4am coughing. I was never much of a believer in the usefulness of humidifiers, but I can't ignore how helpful it was this time. My wife is absolutely ecstatic about finally having a (working) humidifier, and its initial success makes my previous dismissal of them seem even more frivolous.
The unit itself is very nice. Half the size of our other two humidifiers, it looks like a small subwoofer that you'd get for a desktop computer. It has a white light in the front indicating that it's on, and the left side has transparent slit running down the side that's illuminated so you can see the water level. The water level isn't very easy to see, but give it a slight tap on the side so the water moves, and it becomes easier to see. The illumination turns from blue to red when the unit runs out of water. On the right side, there's two buttons and a slide adjustment... one button is for power (on/off), the other is for the illumination (high, low, off), and the slide adjustment is for increasing or decreasing the moisture output. The reservoir pops out of the top and the humidifier will continue to run for a few minutes while you refill it. Inside, there's demineralization cartridge and a ionic silver cube, both of which are used to reduce contaminates in the water to keep the mist fresh. There's also a brush stored under the reservoir for cleaning and a test strip to check your tap water's hardness. They left nothing out... everything's been covered when they were designing this humidifier. I'm thoroughly impressed.
When on, the unit is incredibly quiet. My daughter's room is 14' x 14' (196 sq ft) and the humidifier had no trouble handling it, without over-humidifying. I checked the curtains and couch in her room and found no residual moisture.
I was a bit concerned about the bad reviews I noticed after I had ordered the Anton humidifier, particularly about the unit turning itself off. The second night we had it, I went in the room, found the unit off, and immediately thought 'ah-ha, it's broken!', but it ended up turning itself off when the water ran out (we didn't fill it up all the way the first night). I refilled it and had no issues whatsoever. It's been functioning perfectly. The reservoir is less then half the size of our last two humidifiers, but I'd say roughly it'll run two nights before refilling, which is plenty in my opinion. I don't see any need for a five-gallon tank of water on it... it has enough water while keeping its profile small.
Overall, I have to give it a solid 5-stars. My wife, on the other hand, would give it 7-stars, but Amazon won't permit it...

I bought this product last year and used it for a few months. It's a great piece of design, but not very functional, and it broke down with no misuse it just stopped working one day. After only a few short months of use, only leaving it on overnight, the light started to malfunction and wouldn't switch on and off when the button was pushed. Then, a few weeks later the unit simply stopped turning on. Add to that the fact that the internal plastic water tank shattered after it slipped in my sink and a replacement cost around $40 this thing was a waste of money. Next time I'll get a quality humidifier that's a little less sleek rather than weighing form over function...

I've had this product for longer than a month now. I wanted to give it time to really use it for any issues to popup. During this month I have ran it nearly everyday but not consistently however before I received this item I had purchased a different humidifier to use in my bedroom at night and I do not run that one consistently either so for a review I felt it was best to review it under normal use and not try and place it under some sort of stress test by running it consistently for more than a month.
The ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier produces cool mist for humidity and during this month I have had it sitting on top of my bar in my living room and not once have I felt any build up of condensation or wetness around the device or on my bar top or on my kitchen counter.
I have a humidity gauge in my kitchen and prior to running the ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier the humidity gauge reported 40% humidity in my house and after an hour it reported 44%. Not much of a difference however it is an increase of humidity and I'm not looking to live in a sauna.
Physically I feel the ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier has made a difference for me. I'm running the heat occasionally in my house and between the heat and the winter months I suffered from dry sinuses , dry throat, dry skin and my contacts would dry out. I have not had these symptoms since running a humidifier in my house.
A few notes regarding the ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier.
1) My husband had thought the ANTON Ultrasonic Humidifier once after a refill. It would run for a while and then just stop. He took it apart and cleaned the filter and it has been running since.
2) When this unit runs out of water the unit flashes a red light. I really like this feature.
