I have used this type of Acrylic Humidor for traveling for over 15 years.

They hold many cigars and can endure violent mistreatment at the hands of TSA and baggage handlers.

These work very well, but ONLY if you follow the advice of this and the other reviews:

1) Use a Boveda Humidipak for humidity regulation. This humidor is completely airtight. Without bidirectional humidification, your sticks will be either too wet or too dry. In desert conditions (Vegas) I supplement the humidification with a stick-shaped oasis.

2) Use packing when traveling. A simple washcloth or rag will do, but I prefer to pack some loose tobacco leaves in the top to prevent the sticks from shaking about. Several cigar manufacturers (Drew, Kristoff, etc) use loose tobacco for packing in their boxes, you can ask your tobacconist for some.

This specific humidor was purchased for a young Army sergeant on his fourth tour, this time in Afghanistan.

The solder, humidor and a few cigars returned unscathed, despite very hostile conditions for all.

Normally these types of humidors are awful because most humidification devices over humidify causing mold, but if you use a self regulating humidification device then these potentially become one of the best humidors around. I recommend a lower percent Humidipak, 65% is good because it's a sealed container. Humidipaks normally last a few weeks in a normal humidor, but in a sealed container like this they can last months and months keeping perfect humidity.

This product is just not good. Do yourself a favor and go talk to your local tobacconist. Perhaps you will be able to avoid cracking your first batch of cigars and cover your second batch in mold.

For those of you who like me cannot sleep through the night in winter because of apartment dry heat, you know a humidifier is a must and I've tried a few optionsthis is the best! I love the little fragrance dispencerI poured lavendar oil into minethe effect was a subtle fragrance, not heavy/overpowering. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PART? NO FILTERS! No filters to replace or constatly monitor for mold! Dont let water stand for days on end to prevent bacteria growth and you're done!

This is the 3rd humidifier I purchased for my daugter's room in one week. The first one was a Disney princess one from Babies R Us that literally dumped a gallon of water everywhere whenever we turned it on, the second one was a Vicks that sounded like a freight train. This one is very cute, holds enough water to work on medium/high in a 10x10 room overnight, and has a really cool blue nightlight option that my daughter loves. I haven't used the diffuser yet, but am thinking of trying some eucalyptus oil soon.

I have allergies and also get very stuffed up in the winter time. This runs very quiet, is easy to clean, diffuses the scent well, and keeps the air moist enough to help me sleep at night and keep my nose from getting very stuffy.

Received this fast and in a well-packaged shipping box. Read instructions, removed plastic aromatherapy oil holder from unit base, removed the wick from opening. Placed Lavendar Therapeutic grade essential oil in plastic reservoir and fit it back up under the side of the base. Placed distilled water in main water reservoir; turned on and it worked great for several hours at about 45% power.

The next day I was refilling/cleaning the water reservoir and noticed some white plastic shards on the right side of the unit. Turns out the thin plastic 'holder' located on the underside of the base unit had somehow shattered in multiple areas and the oil was not sitting in the right place.

I bought this fan for my living room. I wanted something that would blend into the ceiling because the other colors and lights in the living room were already "obvious". I'm using this with the white side of the blades down and a 3-speed in-wall control with no light kit and no chains hanging down from the fan.

The fan is fantastic--I've had it for about 4 months and it's completely silent, even on the high setting. It has no hint of wobble and mounts relatively close to the ceiling, unlike some other fans that have a bit more of a drop rod.

I bought 5 new ceiling fans this year, so I have something to compare this too and I love this fan, especially for the low price.

I own several Hunter fans throughout my home, in Florida, where they rarely get turned off. Several of them are 20 yrs. old or more. And they are as quiet as the day they were new. And this one is just the same. Simple installation, quiet running, moves the air, and I am sure, will be as dependable as the rest. I bought this fan to replace a perfectly quiet, perfectly working living room ceiling fan, because I wanted a white fan to go with the white and light decor of my newly purchased condo, and not the brown of the existing fan. I went with the Hunter fan because of its excellent reputation and the amazingly high percentage of five-star reviews for this specific fan. I have ordered a lot recently through Amazon, and in every other case I have used the free super saver shipping. In this case, because I was only going to be at the condo from May 21-24 and this was for me a "last-minute" purchase, made a week before I would be there, I paid extra for the 2-3 business day shipping.

I have two complaints about this fan. The first is that I ordered it with the accompanying downrod, at the same time, and so I expected them to be shipped together. Well, first of all, items I ordered from Amazon a day later with super saver shipping, for which there is a standard 5-8 business day shipping period, not 2-3 days, shipped BEFORE these items did. I have had great experiences with super saver shipping. This was my first use of expedited shipping, and I was disappointed. Second, it had never occurred to me that the downrod might be shipped separately from the fan itself. But that's what happened. I was notified the fan would arrive by May 22 but the downrod only on May 24, the last day I would be at the condo. So I was not happy. As it happened, the downrod arrived on May 23, but it still caused me undue anxiety. And the downrod arrived via USPS, whereas the fan came via UPS. Made no sense to me.

The second complaint is about the fan itself. My electrician installed it late on May 23 and then left. He had just installed 15 Hunter fans somewhere else that day. He praised this fan as excellent and sturdy and easy to install. However, after he left, I turned the fan up to full speed, and lo and behold, it started swaying and knocking. I could only run it at half-speed quietly. My electrician returned the next day. He used all the included light balances, but it still knocked. He finally put what is called a "clothespin" balance on one of the five fan blades. That did the trick, so now the fan runs quietly with very little sway at the highest speed. But my electrician, who has installed many Hunter fans, said this was the worst swaying he had ever seen in a Hunter fan. And I find the "clothespin" mars the clean aesthetics of the blades, even though it solved the problem. Maybe I just got that rare lemon--it happens. But I have a tenant in the condo as of now, so removing and retuning the fan would be a very disruptive experience, for me and the tenant. So I have ended up disappointed that my experience was not like so many other reviewers for this fan.

SPT SF-608R Portable Evaporative Air Cooler

First off, this is NOT an air conditioner. If you expect your room to be freezing cold, this is not the product for you. It's a COOLER, and it does its job very well. It works by evaporating water. Try soaking a T-shirt, wringing it out, and putting it on wet to get the effect. It doesn't work very well in humid areas, but it works GREAT where the air is dry.

I'm in southern California, where the humidity varies pretty widely. I place the cooler six or eight feet from my chair, and on the hottest days I'm quite comfortable.

Benefits:

* it's about 1/5 the cost of an air conditioner

* operating expense is a fraction of the cost of air conditioning

* neat features! (timer, sleep function, etc.)

* remote control

Drawbacks:

* it's not freezing cold like air conditioning.

Low price, very effective in low humidity. Has a strong fan when not using the cooling feature. Timer works well. Has an oscillating feature, a "sleep" mode and, most importantly: a drain plug, washable filter element and a plastic body that cannot rust like those made of sheet metal or tin.

It's been in the high 90s to the low 100's here in the San Fernando Valley in CA with low humidity and it's kept whatever room it is in cool enough to not have to turn on the AC.

It's no air conditioner, but it's a low in cost [to purchase and to run]alternative you could even say was an "eco-friendly" way to stay comfortable in the summer. But then, my friends had to talk me out of buying a wringer washing machine, so my opinion is based on my personal preference for simplicity and old fashioned ways of doing things.

Take my review as you will. It does what it says it will. If you have frequent high humidity, it won't be effective and the company tells you that so be forewarned. I find it to be a great buy and it runs quietly as well.

This is a FABULOUS product. I based my purchase on the reviews of this item. I had a similar product a few years ago and it doesnt compare to this as well as the other one being almost double this price. The cooler came a day PRIOR to the estimated delivery date.WOW........I live in Acampo California which is north of Lodi CA and south of Sacramento CA. The degrees outside at 5:40 pm is 93 degrees, the temperature inside of the house is 84 degrees and my bedroom (which is where I have my cooler) is 72 degrees. I use a pitcher of ice water from my fridge to fill it up and ice cubes in the top tray. For those of you that are young or have not had the experience of a "swamp cooler", they tend to have a musty smell to them. I solved this problem by purchasing a Glade Car oil fragrencer(?). It is intended to clip on the vents of your heating/air conditioning unit. I clip mine on the bottem lever of the cooler on the lowest setting and it gives off a slight fragrance with no musty smell whatsoever. My hats off to the seller, Amazon for carrying the product and the reviews that allowed me to purchase the best product out there. Happy Happy Happy!!!!

After reading conflicting reviews I was thoroughly confused, yet I was so desperately hot I took a chance on this product. Here is the true skinny on this portable cooling unit.

I live in Colorado. The humidity has ranged from 30 to 88%, the temperature 84-93 degrees. I filled the unit with 2 gallons of cold water from the frig and 2 trays of ice cubes. It absolutely blew cool air, even after the ice melted and the water reached room temperature it still blew cool air. Don't bother checking a thermometer it DOES NOT cool an entire room, no matter how small, it cools the AREA you point it at.

If you sit at the computer or any other stationary position, place the unit within 7 feet, and point it in your direction you will be cooled.

As for the humidity, this is a problem only in a room with no air circulation.

I pointed the unit at my bed and was quite comfortable, even chilly. However, in this room I have only a small table fan and the windows are closed, so within 45 minutes I was suffocating from the humid air.

In the living room where I have 2 ceiling fans and 2 box fans-one in front of the half opened door, either turned to blow air in or flipped to pull air outI have had NO issues with humidity, even at 88%.

It beeps to let you know when the water level is low. It is easy to put handfuls of ice cubes in the tank but I found it really wasnt necessary. Pouring in the water is easy as well, but if you dont hold the little door open it will sometimes close leaving you pouring water onto your floor! I havent had to clean it yet, but the filter is easily accessible. It's no louder than a box fan and wheels around smoothly. I wish the unit were a bit taller and the blower area a bit larger but these are my only negatives.

Overall, I got what I wanted. I no longer sit at my desk with wet rags on my head, miserable and hot. I dont have to stick something in my window, or spend hundreds for central AC. If you want a cool room, look for something else. If you want to be cool in a stationary location, and you have good air circulation this will work for you.

We live in the heart of the desert in Nevada, and bought this as a way to cool individual rooms in the house vs. letting the central air cool the whole house. Why bother cooling the whole house when the family is together in one room for long periods of time?

We have a thermometer and hydrometer in the primary room we use it in. The room is about 400 sq ft. and we run it for hours. For coolness, it only gives us a 1-degree temp difference; sometimes 2-degrees with ice cold water, and ice cubes in both the main water chamber and top of unit.

The big difference we notice is with the humidity. We run about 20% humidity in the room normally. With this unit, it increases to 35-40% humidity. This helps with the dryness and with our allergies/asthma.

Overall, we use it more as a humidifier, but it does help us to increase the thermostat a few degrees at night when we run it in the bedroom, which saves a little on energy costs.

While this humidifier doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it works excellent and delivers the right amount of moisture into the air. What I also like about it is that there are no weekly filters to use(wick), plus the added expenses of purchasing wicks.

Its easy to use, it holds enough water that I only have to fill it every other night, and it works very well. The blue ring around the adjustment knob lights up bright blue but it can be turned off for those who do not like night lights. Operation is pretty quiet.

The drawbacks:

water flows out of the bottom of the reservoir into the base were the magic happens. This means that the base of the reservoir will be wet when you remove it to refill and things around the humidifier may get a little wet.

The part where the moisture comes from isn't secured to the top of the humidifier so when you remove the reservoir to refill and flip it upside down (you fill from the bottom), this part will probably fall off a few times before you remember to take it off and set it aside.

even considering those two things, its worth the money.

Not too big and not too small. It'll last about 2 -3 nights, ie does not require a refill every night (phew) and not too heavy to carry like bigger models (double phew). Plus, there's no nasty paper filter that gets instantly moldy.

I live in a dry climate and in the cold months with the heater running, we buy bedside humidifiers for the whole family to keep from drying out and catching colds. I have been searching for an essential oil diffuser plus humidifier that is easy to clean. I love this so much that I bought another. It puts out a good amount of moisture with the added benefit of essential oils. I use this mainly when the kids are sick. After researching many diffusers, I decided on this one. So far, I like it! The instructions were in English. It is easy to use and easy to clean. The colors change or you can choose a color to stay on, or no color at all. It is very quiet. The only "issue" I have which may not even be a big deal is that when you lift the lid to put more water or oil in, drops of water fall onto the counter/surface so I need to have a paper towel in my hand when I add to it due to it being on a wood surface. Also, I bought an essential oil set with it from someone else and used their "Relaxation" blend which my husband didn't like too well and it took several days to get the strength of the smell out of the house, so it definitely works!! If you are looking for less strong smells, lemon, orange, rose, and vanilla have worked so far. I love keeping a vaporizer going, especially in the dryness of winter. I like what it does for my skin and having some moisture in the air helps my sinuses and healthy for the lungs. I had previously had the greenair spa vaporizer. Hmmm...in fact I had four of them. Two from Amazon and then when those two (one for my daughter and one for me) went to the vaporizer graveyard (in less than 6 months each) , I found two more on clearance.( I know, I know, but they were such awesome little machines!) , those also lasted less than 6 months. So this time I decided to spend a little more money. I hope this machine lasts, because it is awesome at diffusing my essential oils and really throws out a nice vapor. It has settings to run from 30 minutes to just "on" Nice selection of lighting..blues, greens, reds, white or none at all. Holds more water than the greenair unit did and lasts about 10 hours each fill, then it automatically shuts off if on the "on" position. It is much quieter than the greenair unit as well.

Update: Well, it no longer works and has joined the vaporizer graveyard. I am very upset as I really liked this vaporizer. I had it approximately 2 months until it no longer emits vapor at all. The lights still work (yippee) and I hear the motor humming....just no vapor. I believe I even paid 15 dollars more than what is stated here, so for the low, low price of 40 dollars per month I had vapor. Yep, I am totally feeling ripped off, as the window for returning/replacing the item is closed (a whole month window). Now I am left wondering if it is a coincidence that they only give you a month to return/replace when the product only last two months? I don't know, but what I do know is I treated this thing with kid gloves and followed all instructions to a tee, as I wanted it to last. My advice is to stay away from this vaporizer and if anyone knows of a good quality vaporizer that is time tested, I would greatly appreciate it if you would leave a comment and let me know the name of it.

It works. But we are still battling the various buttons, not quite sure which does what. The changing lights are a bit annoying for us, so we don't bother with them, but when you press "mist" once, it runs for about 30 min. press twice it will run for one hour, and so on. Instruction booklet is useless at best, so we just felt our way through by trial and error. It has a very large water well, and can go on for several hours before it runs out of water. It is also relatively quiet, and defusing the oils is perfect. Remember to use filtered water, and to clean base and lid. Once you figure out which button does what, you'll see its simplicity. It's very good, but a bit steep.

I've been looking for a while for a diffuser that I can use with my essential oils in my work office. I read the reviews on this one and decided that it was worth a try. It came in about a week. I was surprised at the size when I opened the box, apparently I hadn't read the information on it. I expected it to be much bigger, but I am loving the size..it's not big and bulky like I thought it might be. I got nervous thinking that it ran on batteries because there was no power cord in the box, but it was neatly packed away INSIDE the unit. Who woulda thought to look there? LOL!! It gives out a really good amount of vapor. I'm trying it out at home before I take it to the office. I filled it to the maximum amount of water (500ml) and I ran it for an entire day and it was still half full, which I really like! The instructions say to clean it every 4 or 5 days with citric acid..gotta find me some!!
