MALLARD DUCK Magic Steamer Woodstove Mister Humidifier - BRUSHED ALUMINUM

MALLARD DUCK Magic Steamer Woodstove Mister Humidifier - BRUSHED ALUMINUMMy duck looks great on my wood stove but the steam builds up and drips out of his neck, maybe the holes for is nose is to small. I think I might try and make them bigger.

a good looking steamer just wish it had more vents. It's hard to determine how much humidity it is releasing.

Quality Importers Milano 75-100 Cigar Humidor, Rosewood

Quality Importers Milano 75-100 Cigar Humidor, Rosewoodi read a lot about cheap chinese humidors and how they're not worth their lower price and you should spend 5 to 10 times as much to get a nice one from a cigar shop. bull hockey.

this humidor has held it's humidity for years and has been responsible for maintaining cigars that are almost as expensive as it is.

there are cheap knock offs out there that don't seal properly or work, and those all wood (this one has a pressed wood bottom) humidors that cost a lot more look nicer, but this is an affordable humidor that holds a decent capacity of cigars and has a removable key. it looks very nice and since it doesn't have a glass top it doesn't suffer from temp/humidity swings as much as other ones in this price range do.

I've had this for at least six months now and it is a beautiful and effective humidor. Fit and finish are great. When you shut it you can feel the pressure as you close it, indicating a tight seal.

Follow the directions for seasoning itthe wood will take on a lot of water. Also, I buy cigars online and they often are fairly dry. I find that putting a small cup with about 1/4 inch of distilled water in it provides enough extra moisture to humidify the cigars and allow you to reach 70%; just take the open water out once you reach a stable level of humidity around 70%.

I replaced the analog dial hygrometer with a digital one because it is easier to read, but I'm sure the original would have worked fine. I also do not use the built-in well for water, but use a separate one with a better absorbant.

I bought this for my first Humidor and it hasn't disappointed. It's well built and I really like the dividers. I wouldn't put much stock in the hygrometer, as most non-digital hygrometers rarely work. If you're looking for a good desktop humidor; your search should stop here...

nice finish, good quality on the inside. My wife wants to steal it for the jewelry box:) Yep, it looks that good.

Highly recommended

Great humidor, the shipping is really fast and the packing is good. Received it in great condition. Everything was inside and worked properly. The only thing i suggest is to buy your own humidificator, but other than that. A great humidor for a great price.

What a great buy! Now, I'm not quite sure what animal it is supposed to be, since my son & I can't tell if it's a panda, dog, or "kitty," but it's still adorable. It cheered my son up, and he found it very soothing, especially since it has a night light. I love the cool steam as opposed to the hot ones of the old days, and it's very quiet. It has a handle that pops out of the head so you can easily carry it, and once in place, it pops back into to place & is hidden by a cover that pops out as well. It holds plenty of water, and I ran it all night for 2 nights before having to refill it. My favorite thing about it is that it doesn't leave the area around it wet like most other humidifiers do. Great price, too! My only complaint is that you can't add essential oils to it. I plan on buying another one for my other son. It's nice having multiples when everyone is sick.

Great machine, runs rather quietly. Instructions were not so clear on how to put together for use. The item was a great deal larger than I originally assumed it would be.

This humidifier is perfect for my LO's room! I don't have to worry about the cool mist burning her, and it doesn't leave condensation all over her windows, furniture, and toys like the regular humidifiers. It's easy to use, and the panda design is really cute (even if it does look more like Hello Kitty).

There's not much to say about this humidifier besides that it's perfect. It took all of half a minute to fill the head with water and turn the knob, and that was it no assembly or anything. It makes the room obviously more humid, to the point that it gets too humid unless I turn it to about medium strength, and I just refill it each evening. It seems strong and I expect it will last well.

Graco Pack 'N Play Playard with Bassinet

Graco Pack N Play Playard with Bassinet, PasadenaAfter returning a much more expensive product with all of the bells and whistles and a similar product by Evenflo, I did a lot of research on which playard would be best for us. We had no use for the changing tables attached to many of them, and wanted one that would allow us to pack the bassinet into the carry bag for travel. Many of them do not allow you to do this. This one is serving us quite well. It is easy to put up and take down--much easier than the Evenflo or Baby Trend ones. The bassinet just snaps on the sides and doesn't require a lot of metal bars, like others do. There are also buttons on each side to release them for folding, which I find easier than the things you have to push from underneath and can't even see. I would only go with Graco. Also, the padding is a bit softer than these other brands. It's still not really comfortable for our baby, but I just put a blanket between the pad and the sheet, and he seems to sleep fine. This is where I take off a star. I don't know why manufacturers think that a baby wants to sleep on a piece of cardboard. Overall, I have no complaints, and find this product to be well worth the price.

Three pack and plays from different companies. This one is by FAR the better one. Bonus: It cost the least. Pros: easy to setup, easy to pack up, very sturdy, fairly light and seemingly the most comfortable. Cons: I haven't found one in 21 months despite my daughters hard work to find a flaw.

These Graco Pack N Plays are great. We just bought our 2nd and 3rd ones as grandparents. This newer model is much easier to set up and much easier to take apart with the big release buttons on each of the 4 sides. Don't tell the younger generation but these are very much like the playpens of years ago ... yes, I know ... playpens are out these days as this generation of parents wants to give their kids freedom to move around and go where they want :-) Back to the product: the value for the price is outstanding. These Pack N Plays seem to last forever. Graco Pack N Play with Bassinet The write up ought to say that sheet is no longer included.

This item is easy to assemble/disassemble, useful from infancy to about 2 years old, has nice neutral tones for your decor, and it even fits through most doorways fully assembled. Our two year old grandson now sleeps in a spare toddler bed because he's too full of spit and fire for this anymore, but it was a godsend when he was younger.

I would have given it 5 stars if there were some way to fold down a side. Maybe I'm old school, but back in the day, playpens had that option and really, this is just a smaller version of those. The floor is just set so low, and grandma's back isn't what it used to be...so putting a sleeping child into it can be an awkward experience.

Otherwise, with our second grandchild due this summer and another due this winter, we will be getting plenty of "play" out of this product, and happily so.

***UPDATE 8/21/11: Still very happy with this product, and as a comment pointed out, the drop down option isn't even a possibility anymore no matter how my back might prefer it, so I've amended my rating to 5 stars.

My husband and I purchased this PnP to use in our bedroom till our baby is old enough to sleep in his room. I researched alot of different PnP and I found that all the ones that had all the extra accessories like changing table or napper all had issues or complaints. I settled with getting a simpler version and so far Im very happy. It took us less then 10 min to set up the whole thing. Its very sturdy amd really cute. After adding a fitted quilted blanket sheet on it it seems very comfortable.

Honeywell Charcoal Prefilter 32002, 2 pk

Honeywell Charcoal Prefilter 32002, 2 pkI placed my order and had to contact the company to see why it had not arrived after a couple weeks of waiting. They emailed me back that it was currently not available but I had recieved no notice prior to my making contact with them. It was frustrating. I cancelled the order & re-ordered from someone else.

These where not the actual complete filter, they are the strips left over from wrapping a larger hepa filter like mine. So they are unable unless your hepa filter is only 6 in tall!

Contact them as well with Zero response. I guess the price was too good to be true.

Ordered one for the big unit and one for the smaller. The smaller filter was a few inches too high and just cut it off. The large one fit just right. Don't know what to say about the filter except I needed new ones and now I have them!

Essick Air 427-300 2-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier and Air Cleaner

Essick Air 427-300 2-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier and Air CleanerUp here in the deep north it is essential to have humidifier if you have musical instruments, or anything made out of nice wood. I have tried several different options, and evaporative humidifiers are the best. This one has enough nice features to warrent an excellent rating. The main great feature is that it is easy to add water to the system. The tanks remove easily, and can be filled from the kitchen sink (they are too tall for filling in a bathroom sink). In the dead of winter expect to fill it daily, but fortunately this is big enough to only need filling once per day. Other nice features include a fan speed control (pump humidity in fast because you were gone all weekend and its dry), or quiet. At low speed settings you barely know its on. I also like the optional air cleaning evaporator. It apparently slows down air flow, but that seems trivial since the fan can simply be turned up.

Operationally its five stars all the way. My wife thinks its looks could be improved.i.e. it has a "too plasticy" look. Service (getting it operational) via telephone was concise and correct.

Buy Essick Air 427-300 2-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier and Air Cleaner Now

WINNER: After much deliberation and research for a quality humidifier, I took function over form in this model and am very glad I did. Some reviews commented on the "tacky plastic" housing but I didn't think it an issue. If anything, it helps with the weight of the item and it's easy to keep clean.

PERFORMANCE: The 2 fan speeds are just right. I turn it on high @ night to do most of it's work and on low and comfortable setting during the day. The low fan setting is whisper quiet. I have it in my living room and don't need to elevate the TV volume at all!

SET-UP: EASY! Just read the directions! Not as much space needed a I thought.

Added bonus: No distilled or soft water required. Not a luxury I have in my home so this unit wins again.

EASE OF USE: If you don't think this is the simplest and most efficient investment then I wish you luck on your humidifier endeavors. It doesn't have all the "bells and moderns whistles" of some models, but I also don't have to fuss or worry about maintenance, refilling, or cleaning challenges. Tried and true model.

It works in large spaces we have almost 2000 sq ft (one level). It is loud if you turn it on full blast. We turn it on when we are asleep or gone for errands and then turn it off. The large water container is awesome. We fill it about once a week and keep our house between 35 and 45 humidity. We also live in the desert. I highly recommend it. It is large -comparable to a small coffee table. If you want something with little maintenance and works in large spaces this is it. If you have a smaller space and want it to be quiet this is not it.

Received this product, set it up and the humidity level knob wasn't working correctly, it was put on at the manufacturer incorrectly, which is no fault of Amazon, just got a lemon.

So I decided instead of contacting Amazon, to contact Essick Air and they sent a replacement motor section.

Essick Air was very helpful and eager to assist.

Received new motor and set humidifier up again. After the first bottle ran out and was filled again, noticed it was running continuously, checked the water bottles and both were bone dry and so was the wick.

The empty bottle indicator lights did not come on, so not sure how long the unit ran without having water in the bottles or the wick.

I now just make sure to check the bottles every other day to ensure they have water in them.

I had the same brand unit for approximately 15+ years prior to purchasing this one and I can say that the craftmanship of this cabinet and all components fitting correctly has depleted.

Again, this is no fault of Amazon.

Other than what I have stated, it does do the job of putting humidity into the house. Just wish now, that I had contacted Amazon and requested to return this unit and have another sent.

Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier

Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist HumidifierI originally purchased this unit for my child's room 2 years ago -worked fine. There was no soaked carpet, no leaks, no fires, and no problems finding filters. I even liked the level of sound it would get loud gradually. My child (now 2 yrs old) loved the sound so much we had to find a sound machine to duplicate it.

We purchased another unit for our second child's room. Strangely, this unit worked differently than the first. The second one leaked (very litte nothing a hand towel under the unit couldn't fix) and was MUCH louder than the first. I also found that I needed to refill this unit more often than I did the first.

I didn't see too much of a problem with the difference, just thought it was worth mentioning...

I started getting sick, and for the first time since grade school had a bloody nose. That coupled with getting dry mouthed and dry skin and chapped lips every morning made me consider a humidifer.

When I went to the store I wanted a cool mist one, as cool mist would be nice in my room that is hot and dry during the winter. I expecte a misting machine, this thing doesnt mist, but I'm happy it doesn't after reading all the review of people with soggy carpets because of their misters...

Since having this I haven't felt as dry in the morning which is nice, I breathe easier and started feeling better. It a little louder than some but if you dont like the noise, turn down the speed to lower at night, I personally like some background noise and keep it on high.

The water last for a long time in these ones that use these wicks. There is only one downfall, mine is about a month old and the filter is getting pretty nasty already, although I admit my room is a dusty place and I've been using tap water. Apparently if you use those cheap 1 gallon Distilled waters the filter wont get all dirty or smelly as easily, as distilled water is pure, and tap water well....no matter what you think isn't ;).

PRO: Humidifies room with few refills and doesn't soak room.

CONS: The filter gets moldy/dirty pretty quick.

Hopefully this is usefull, I'm happy with it and I'm sure you'd be.

This humidifier is cheaper than most, especially if you buy something else from the same manufacturer (the $10 off $30 coupon helps out).

It only has two speeds, low and high. HIgh is somewhat noisy, but what you would expect. However low is whisper quiet, you can't even really tell it's on at all. I have a somewhat large room 17x14 or so, and it easily keeps it humid in here (I have a clock that has humidity on it, and can see the difference). As far as replacement filters, it appears as those are reasonable as well.

It doesn't have any real features, but it works and it has worked well for me so far with no complains. Quiet, cheap, and humidifes, it's win-win.

I have purchased and thrown away at least 3 other humidifier's prior to this one. I really like this one. The maintenance is so much easier and so far no scaly build-up like I had with the others. I love that the basin tray can go in the dishwasher. I put the filter in the sun to dry out weekly. I am very pleased with this item and haven't experienced any of the problems others have mentioned. Very happy!!

Want Vicks 1.0 Gallon Cool Mist Humidifier Discount?

When I purchased this humidifier and set it up, I expected after a couple of hours to walk into my son's room and be able to noticably tell that the humidifier was on. I couldn't tell at all. The room felt just as it did a few hours earlier. With those old humidifiers that I grew up on, I was used to being able to see the humidified air coming out, and to have the room feeling almost muggy. I guess that's what I expected.

At first, I was a little bothered that I couldn't physically tell it was on and working. But, after running it for 3 days in a row now, my sons stuffy nose and cough have remarkably subsided, there's no moisture buildup anywhere in the room, and my son is sleeping better.

So, although you don't see or feel this humidifier working, it seems to have done really well in alleviating my sons cold symptoms. I am definitely becoming a fan of the evaporative technology this humidifier uses in controlling condensation build-up.

Bottom Line: If you buy this humidifier, be patient with it. Don't assume it's not working. You have to just watch for it to alleviate symptoms. You will NOT feel or see this thing working, but it has done wonders for my son.

pureguardian H1000 12-Hour Ultrasonic Humidifier

pureguardian H1000 12-Hour Ultrasonic HumidifierI first saw the Germ Guardian H1000 on the desktop of a co-worker. I searched the web for it and found the best price at Amazon. I originally bought it for work, but set it up on my nightstand to test it out and liked so much it never made it to the office. (I may have to get a second one for work.) It's compact size and efficiency are real selling points. I even used it in a recent production I was in, taking it to and from the theater every night. Most of the other performers in the cast wanted to know all about it and were also impressed. I highly-recommend it.

I was very disappointed with this product. Initially, it appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. A small, attractive, filterless humidifier for a baby nursery that had natural antimicrobial properties.

Prior to purchasing, I read a number of online reviews. Like most products, there were mixed results, but overall the impressions seemed positive. I had read a review by Paul here who claimed that the product didn't work. I assumed his review was hyperbole. Turns out Paul was right. It just plain doesn't work.

We ran this humidifier in our baby's nursery for 16 hours straight (refilling so the tank was never empty). In 16 hours, the humidity went from 33% to 34% !?!? It just plain doesn't work.

Now, I should also state some obvious stuff. We used the product in what should have been an appropriate environment. The room is very small 9'x9' and the door was closed to eliminate loss of humidity. Also, my experience can not be explained away as a single faulty unit. I had ordered two (another for the master bedroom), so we retested with a second model with identical results. Both produced a visible mist immediately above the unit, so they were 'working'.

This product has great features in theory. I was excited by the nano silver technology which in theory should make for a clean and low maintenance experience.

I returned this product and purchased a well known brand. While it didn't have all the flashy features of this Germ Guardian, it just plain works. I installed it 10 minutes ago and the room humidity has climbed more than 5%.

Bottom line. This product doesn't work. If you plan to purchase it despite these warnings, make sure you keep your receipt for the return.

This is a tiny humidifier! I bought it for my son as he suffers from bloody noses at night. We live in Arizona and it is very dry. We have the full size Germ Guardian on our side of the house and we like it but I thought the lights would bother the boys at night. So we ordered this. It puts out a small amount of steam and only lasts about 12 hours in our very dry house. But it seems to be enough for my boys. The unit does get warm and doesn't turn itself off when empty. It has a light inside which makes the unit glow a very pretty blue which is a great night light.

I've been using the Germ Guardian H1000 in a small bedroom (approx 150 sf). It doesn't really seem to work! I've measured the humidify before and after and it really doesn't seem to change significantly. It's small, quiet and cute but what's supposed to be most important is how well it works. And it doesn't.

Want pureguardian H1000 12-Hour Ultrasonic Humidifier Discount?

I was first very impressed by the reviews I read and liked that this humidifier is so small.

However, it is surprising to me that no one has mentioned the missing research yet when it comes to the nano particles that not only clean the air this humidifier blows out but also may be a health concern!

"A 2005 study in Environmental Science & Technology showed that zinc oxide nanoparticles were toxic to human lung cells in lab tests even at low concentrations. Other studies have shown that tiny silver particles (15 nanometers) killed liver and brain cells from rats. "They are more chemically reactive and more bioactive," Illuminato says, because of their size, which allows them to easily penetrate organs and cells. "Products should be at least labeled so consumers can choose whether they want to be part of this experiment.""

.

There is not a lot of information out there for consumers to really understand the possible impact of nano particles in the air (and in food and clothes), and in the meantime, this technology is being used like x-rays in shoe stores at the turn of the century!

As much as I wanted to like this humidifer, I also don't want to be part of a study in 10 years....good luck to everyone else!
