This is the metal type mesh that the water runs down for the furnace humidifier. It installs easily and works great. It has a black paint mark on top to advise this side up when installed. Good product.

I ordered this product hoping that the filters would be the correct ones....many times they are not even though the vendor describes them as such. These shipped quickly and the filters were exactly what I needed.

My wife and I had never changed the old pad in our whole house humidifier. I figured it was time, given the crusty accumulations on our old pad. Before we changed the pad, I have to say that the efficiency of our humidifier wasn't as good. It seemed to take days for the humidity in the house to go up when I would adjust the humidistat. After changing the old pad, the efficiency was noticeably better right away. Adjustments resulted in changes to our household humidity in less than 24 hours. If you are like me and you are wondering how much of your pad actually gets replaced, you will find that the pad in your humidifier actually has a black frame that comes apart. This is the frame that has the water line attached to it. Once you open the frame, you can discard the mesh metal pad and insert this new pad. It will fit perfectly. I'll be coming back for more of these in the future, and I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Honeywell Cool Moisture Humidifier

I've owned one of these humidifiers for years and bought two new ones while they were on sale. I find it's the best unit for the money and better than others I've tried that cost more. It's a bit loud on high but they all are unless you spend >$100. You only need it on high until the humidity gets to the level where you want it and after that it can stay on low most of the time. I have two of them so I run one in the bedroom during the day and one in the living room at night. That way if I want absolute silence, the room I'm using is never too dry to turn the unit off (even for several hours).

The newer black model is attractive, allowing it to not look like a medical device. Unlike some other brands (ie Sunbeam) the replacement filters are easy to find and last a long time. The filters are also less expensive than any other model I've owned or looked into.

Considering function and value, at $25 it's a five star unit. It hasn't been around for well over a decade for no reason.

Lastly, but by no means of least importance, the company stands behind their products and has real live people to speak with if you need any kind of help (even after the warranty was up in my case). This review might read like an ad for Honeywell (Kaz) but I assure you I have no affiliation with them. It's just a reliable product at a good price from a decent company.

I purchased this humidifier to replace an older Honeywell model that I just loved. This humidifier is much smaller than I expected; the tank needs to be refilled morning and night versus my previous model that could run for an entire day. I use this unit in my bedroom which is a smaller room and It doesn't seem to moisturize the room as well. It is also much louder and has a more forceful emission of mist which took a while to get used to. The unit itself is much more attractive and easier to clean which is a plus.

We have been feverishly searching for a cool-mist humidifier and we really struck out with this one. Although it is nice that it's adjustable and does not spray mist that can settle on surfaces, it is really, really noisy even on the lowest setting and it bothered us greatly.

Also hated the complicated multi-step vinegar-and-bleach cleaning routine we were supposed to begin with and then practice once a week.

Not recommended.

Sears Kenmore 14803 Humidifier Replacement Filter (3 Pack)

I had been using the original manufacturer's filters that came with my Kenmore humidifier. I ordered these as a replacement when the originals ran out and I have to say that these just feel a lot cheaper and less effective (less dense) than the originals.

my old filters get clogged with dust etc during the winter.

The original filter in my humidifier had lots of mineral deposits. I was disappointed that Sears no longer makes these filters, but this filter works as well or better. After replacing the filter, my humidifier goes through a tank of water about 3-4 hours faster, so more water is getting in the air, which makes me very happy. Also, these filters can easily be trimmed with a steak knife if they are a little too big to fit your humidifier.

Purchased these hard to find filters over a year ago and they worked fine. They are not as "finished" as the originals but still worked fine in the humidifier. All they have to do is wick water up so that the humidifier can distribute it and they do a good job at this.

The price is right, the filter works as expected but.... the filter is not sized properly. I've ordered the same filter by model number for the Kenmore 14803 from other vendors without issues. For some reason, this filter is about 1" too wide. This has required me to trim the filter with scissors to make it fit my humidifier. This really was not that big a deal, but when you order a specific filter for a specific model humidifier, you expect an OEM fit. Other than than, it works as you would expect.
