Hunter H31943 PermaWick Replacement Filter

After several years of service, the filter element in my Hunter humidifier became rather nasty, plus I'm sure it wasn't as effective as when it was new, due to the accumulation of crud from hard water. The new one fit perfectly, and seems to do exactly what it's supposed to do. When this one reaches its end-of-service, I'll buy another, if they're still available.

I run the humidifier all winter to keep my acoustic guitars at the proper humidity.

This is the same filter that came with the unit from the Factory and brought new life to an older humidifier of mine. They install easily, last a long time and are sturdy metal with silver coating (I believe) which is for anti-bacterial / microbial filtering.

Expected to receive a new filter without any white residue on it. It appeared to have been used and repackaged as new. I have not had it even 6 months yet and does not filter properly. Slimmey foul-smelling mold and mildew like substance develops quickly in base. Concerned of health problems occurring with my allergies.--the reason I needed a good filter. The Hunter unit is cleaned once to twice weekly with vinegar as recommended and still have problems with this slim and also calcium build up. Please send a (NEW) replacement.
