Lasko CHF50 Humidifier Filter
You . . do . . need to wet them before you put them in the carrier, but that is easy.If I wrote a review the week I got this wick, I would have written that it was a fine OEM replacement wick and given it a all the stars that went along with that. But a few months later, this is not the case.
It turns out that these are low quality humidifier wicks that disintegrated into goo within two months. The whole thing didn't disintegrate, but large patches of it turned to goo -like dissolved paper or whatever the pad is really made out of. The OEM wick worked for almost two years in the same spot in the same house at the same humidifier settings before mineral buildup diminished the humidifier output.
Additionally, these wicks did not fit into the lasko humidifier they were sold for. They are about half an inch out of size in each dimension. If you get them wet, they soften up and can be worked into the wick holder, but they still don't fit well.

Product was as exactly as described and delivery was fast. Also, price was very competitive--what more could I ask for? After getting the humidifier out for another winter season, I discovered the filter/wick in my Lasco 1050 was one of THE WORST i've ever seen. Cat hair, dust and everything else including a ton of nicotine buildup. I went to Amazon.com to try and find a new filter for this humidifier. Did'nt take long at all, I ran upon a couple of dealers right away. They advertised the Lasco CHF50 to fit my machine. Being the condition of my old filter, I bought online. I received the new filter in their timely manner, on time. They packaged the new filter in a large box with air cushions, to protect the product also during shipping. I paid a little more for this filter than the other store had advertised, but the whole process went so smooth. This certain filter also fits other models of Lasco humidifiers. One other thing is that this new filter fits my machine perfectly. All recommondations here. 2 thumbs up. Great product, great humidifier. So, while I was out shopping at Amazon I decided to also purchase a Hunter air purifier, model 30378 for rooms up to 21x19 foot. I recieved this via UPS also as scheduled. I'm running them both at the same time, 24/7, and loving it. With winter being here, all windows closed for the season, I'm very please with what I now call my new air purification system. Really, it's working so efficiently. No fault of the filter, but our humidifier quit working shortly after we got the new filter, so I don't really have a good review of the filter.Sunday, July 6, 2014
Hunter 23568 52-Inch Sea Weathered Bronze Fan
- WhisperWind motor
- Installer's Choice 3-position mounting system
- Tarnish-resistant finish and hardware
- UL wet listed for outdoor locations
- Weathered bronze finish
Installation wasn't too difficult but the Neoprene covering around the mounting plate did make it a little difficult to put in the screws.
The fan did not wobble even on the highest speed and it did put out a fair amount of breeze on high.
It was not as much breeze as an industrial metal fan but it is acceptable for its location.
The color depicted in the pictures on this page (as of May 15 2006) is not the color of this fan. It is more of a reddish-bronze brick color.
The blades on this fan are plastic with a wood finish instead of real wood. For me that's good because I wanted it for outside and the plastic blades should hold up well.

I love Hunter Fans! This one was a replacement for an older model that was damaged by a contractor. This fan is easy to install, whisper quiet, and looks great. I installed this fan on my screened porch, and it has been providing us with quiet cool all summer long. One thing to note since it is made for outdoor installation, the fan has a visible white rubber gasket that sits between the ceiling and the fan's collar to keep water from getting down into the fan. If you don't like the way the gasket looks and your installation is not truly outside, you don't have to install the gasket. Overall, a great fan that mounts flush with the ceiling. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a flush-mount fan for outdoor installation. Well worth the money, so go ahead and take the plunge!Read Best Reviews of Hunter 23568 52-Inch Sea Weathered Bronze Fan Here
Most reviews are of limited value. They are written and posted shortly after the time of purchase. Therefore durability, a very important factor, is ignored. I had two outdoor but covered and rain-free Hunter Original Fans which were replaced after only 6 years due to corrosion and environmental degradation. The Hunter Lifetime warranty was useless. (In fairness, the nine indoor Hunter Originals installed in 1992 have performed perfectly.)Since Hunter would not honor the warranty for the Originals and told me I should have installed their outdoor fans, I selected the Sea Air model as replacements. Now, one would think that they would be constructed of materials that would not degrade with outdoor installation. However, within one year the white finish on the housing began to rust. They were both an eyesore by three years. One had a blade snap off at 11 years and the other is still in use at 13. However, as I said, they have been rusty looking for 10 of those years.

This is a nice looking, well made fan. I was concerned about buying this, or any other fan, because I have a sloped ceiling (only 1.5" in 12") and I couldn't tell from specs whether this would mount with the short down-rod (supplied) properly on a pitched ceiling. I wanted to use the short downrod due to limited ceiling height. No problem the fan mounted fine with the short rod. It is quiet & moves air well I am using in a 3 season porch 12x20.I was skeptical because of the price. This fan carries the Hunter name, but definitely not the Hunter quality we have become accustomed. Cheaper hanging mechanism than others which allows the fan to tilt. Does not move the amount of air as other Hunter fans we own. Would not reccomend.Monday, December 9, 2013

This product works as advertised, but ensure the filter fits your particular model. Due to construction, it is very hard to trim in case you made an ordering mistake.Thursday, October 31, 2013
Air-O-Swiss U600 Ultrasonic Humidifier
I bought this one because it's more compact and has actual knobs instead of electronic buttons. I didn't want a lot of bells and whistles, just a basic unit.
It does put out a lot of humidity. No problem there. I usually run it on it's highest settings and it lasts about 8-10 hours. If I put it on it's lower setting it'll run 24 hours but puts out a lot less humidity.
Two issues with the unit.
1) It's hard to get the tank back in place after re-filling. I have to stand and fiddle with it and ultimately kind of slam it in place. Not a huge issue but kind of annoying when I'm ready to go to bed at night and tired.
2) When the water level gets low but not empty, say about an inch and a half or so of water left, the unit begins to turn itself off, then back on, the off, then back on... "click, click, click, click..." It's like it decides it's out of water, then it fills the reservoir back a little, then kicks back on for 30 seconds or so, then runs out again and kicks back off. Now this is annoying. Can't be good for the unit either. I keep mine upstairs in a loft, so when it starts clicking during the day, I have to go upstairs and turn it off as it drives me nuts hearing it click.
If I were to forget to fill it before bed, and it started clicking like this during the night, it would wake me up with the clicking. I am a light sleeper though.
Other than these things, it does what it's supposed to do and it don't take up a lot of space. I think this unit would be good for occasional use, for humidifying a sick kid's room and such, but for every day use I'm going to stick with one of the other units, like the Air-O-Swiss AOS Ultrasonic Humidifier 7135; I've never had ANY problems with that unit (except it's bigger and not very pretty)and have had it for several years.

This is an expensive unit but it got good reviews and I have severe dry eye so I need to sleep in a humid room. Worked great at first. Then (after a short period of time) the beads in the filter started falling into the water unit. Replacement units are expensive and supposed to last several months-NOT! Then the light (green when full and working; red when empty) stopped working. Then it would only work on the highest settings. Then it soaked my floor. Add to all of that, all its little replacement parts are expensive and its very hard to fill. Since I had to fill it every day, that was a pain. I have a cheap Walgreens unit I bought a couple years ago. It just keeps chugging away. Wish I had another just like it instead of this expensive, hard to maintain piece of junk.Read Best Reviews of Air-O-Swiss U600 Ultrasonic Humidifier Here
I live in NYC and had no problems with white dust since the water here is soft. The only reason I've given 4 out of 5 stars is because i wish it could handle a little more water in tank. It works fine for about 8 hours though.I had a choice between the pricier all-electronic U650 and this mechanically controlled U600 and went with the U600 because electronic devices tend to fail. The U600 is just wonderful. During the warmer months, like now, I can go about three days between refills. During colder periods I turn the heating unit on. I can still go 24 hours between refills. It is one fine unit and it looks great. The workmanship is without peer and I would purchase the Air-O-Swiss U600 Ultrasonic Humidifier all over again.
