I've always used the old-school seasoning methods of wiping down a humidor lightly and bringing it up to humidity with sponges/shot glasses/etc.
THESE PACKETS MAKE ALL OF THAT UNNECESSARY, AND REALLY WORK. The humidity in my new humidor went immediately up to 84% within a day of placing the packets inside (3 used in a 50-count humidor), and stayed there for the entire two weeks. I then switched to the standard humidifier and a Ci-gel, and the humidity gradually came down to 70% on the dot.
Couldn't be easier put them in the unit, wait two weeks, and you're done. Don't risk wiping down the insides of the humidor, don't bother with water and sponges, just get a few of these. Pay attention to the number of packets they say you'll need for your size humidor they're not lying or trying to get you to buy more than you need.
I will never use another seasoning method again.
When my new humidor arrived my calibrated hygrometer read 63% and it would have taken an appreciable amount of effort or time to bring to a stable acceptable level. On a friend's recommendation I purchased these packs and left them alone in the humidor for a ten day period. At the end of that time it read 72% and has stayed near there ever since.
All I need to keep my 200 cigar box regulated now is one Xikar Crystal Humidifier 50 and a few squirts of Xikar Humidifier Solution 16 oz. every now and then. There are cheaper ways to do the same thing, but if I was that cheap I guess I wouldn't be smoking cigars.

Easy, peasy and my humidor is seasoned. I did wipe down the humidor with purified water before adding these, and it took about 4 days to do the trick, but they work.

These are the best invention since the humidor. It evenly seasons your humidor perfectly. It DOES NOT mean that the humi will get to 84... nor should it for the 2 weeks of seasoning. It is there to over saturate the cedar linings and allowing 84 degrees out reassures that when you put some nice cigars in the humidor.. The humidity will go to the cigars NOT the cedar in the humidor. PERFECT way to stop the guessing is by using these packets!

I absolutely love this diffuser. Puzhen is a great brand. doTERRA (although they aren't my favorite essential oil company) are the US exclusive distributors of the Puzhen Lotus diffuser. This diffuser is comparable to the Lotus as far as specifications are concerned, however, this diffuser, the Bamboo, actually has a larger water reservoir, which equals a larger running time. It's not cheaply made. It's actually a lot better than most diffusers. I highly recommend this product.
