Secret Slide Lock Humidor

This is a 12 cigar humidor. Note that before anything else. The quick description in bullet points at the top of the page says 25, but if you read the paragraph product description, you'll see it says 12, as does the box visible in one of the pictures.

And, it may be kind of small even for 12 sticks, but I think most humidors probably overestimate.

That being said, it is a beautiful box and the slide-lock is a nice novelty feature that also seems to add to the seal on the box.

The humidifier and hygrometer which are included will work, but are not great. This is common for these included accessories. I'm using them for now, but will eventually replace with a bead humidifier and a digital hygrometer. You might want to consider doing this from the start.

All-in-all, this box will be a great addition to a desktop for access to some favorite sticks. It won't store a serious collection, but that's not the point of a 12 count humidor.

I ordered this humidor for my boyfriend for his birthday. The estimated day of delivery had long passed and I still didn't have it. The order status just said "in transit" for about a week. Finally, I emailed the seller (who was none too hospitable or apologetic, although they did respond somewhat timely) and they promised to resend it . Luckily, it came the day before his birthday. Also, when I got it, it says it only holds 12 cigars on the box, NOT 25 like this description claims up top. In the end, I wouldn't do this again. I order a lot of things through amazon and this particular purchase has made me doubt doing it again. The quality is okay...definitely not worth the money though, considering the delay and that it holds less than they claim...if you're looking for a fine, inexpensive, quality humidor, I'd avoid this one it's not worth the money or hassle.

Bought this to hold my "tobacco" and it looks very classy. Fits all my tools needed for those relaxing nights. The secret lock compartment is simple, but effective. Not 007 style, but still very cool compared to some VERY OVERPRICED humidors out there. Size was small and perfect for me.

This is a "no frills," solid piece for those looking for a furniture style humidor for storing boxes that looks nice but doesn't cost a fortune. The vented drawer is a nice feature, and removable shelves are adjustable and solid.

A couple of important things to be aware of with this item are...

1. The way the outlet is situated in the back causes the shelf to extend slightly too far so that the door will not shut completely, and of course also blocks the outlet. This is easily remedied by simply placing the shelf either above or below the outlet, however it is a limitation to be aware of. The way the shelf is situated in the picture will probably not work for you.

2. Also concerning the outlet, there is a frame around it that unfortunately does not provide an air tight seal but DOES however make accommodating most ac adapters impossible. Anything larger than the width of the outlet will not be able to be inserted completely without a secondary adapter or extension cord, so if you're using a "cigar oasis" style humidifier that is not battery operated you'll have to either use a secondary adapter with your ac adapter, OR use the ribbon cord and simply take the outlet out of the equation. (Using the ribbon cord was my solution, since there is plenty of room to run the ribbon cord through the gap between the outlet and the surrounding wood frame, so I'm not using the outlet at all, but I am saving quite a bit of room by not having an ac adapter inside the humidor.)

3. The seal is extremely poor. It is basically no more air tight than any normal cabinet. (Why there is a label inside the door that indicates "Sure Seal Technology" is beyond me, because I'm absolutely sure there is no seal whatsoever.) In addition, as previously stated, there is a significant gap surrounding the outlet creating leakage there as well. As annoying as this issue is when buying a humidor (which if nothing else is supposed to be air tight for God's sake!), it is easily remedied with the use of weather stripping that can be purchased at any hardware store. I used the thinnest I could find (1/8" rubber) and ran it along the inside of the drawer and cabinet door leaving the magnets exposed. The drawer still clicks into place and the cabinet door still locks easily, but any more than 1/8" will be too thick. To seal the outlet, I used a plastic foam outlet sealer (again, available at any hardware store) which is admittedly a bit of a hodge podge fix, given how the outlet is set up, but it works fine and is forgiving enough to allow me to run the ribbon cord through the gap without creating leakage. There are certainly cleaner ways to seal the outlet for the perfectionists out there, but I'll leave that to you.

Ultimately, I'm very satisfied with this purchase, even with the extra work it took to make it functional. End table humidors are typically extremely expensive. (Make sure to check out cheaphumidors.com) This is the most reasonably priced humidor I've found, it looks nice (even if it's not a show piece), and it does the job. Once it's set up, sealed and humidified, allow about two weeks for it to "season" and stabilize before loading it up with your stock.

Hunter 30920 Replacement Air Purifier HEPA Filter

It was received in a timely manner and apparently not damaged. However, it did not come in the Hunter box...it was loose. SO I don't know if this is a genuine Hunter replacement Hepa filter or not. It was made slightly different than my previous one. I don't know if they changed the product, or if this is not the genuine article. Would have preferred to get it in an actual Hunter-Hepa box so as to prove it's genuine quality.

I bought this through HSN last year and when I went to order replacement filters I was told they could not ship filters to Alaska. No idea why, but I decided to look on Amazon and found them! YEAH! These filters are excellent. I hadn't changed mine in over a year and when I got the ones I ordered from Amazon, I replaced them in both of my machines. OMG! The hair and crap that was in those filters was DISGUSTING, but even though they were packed full of yuck, they continued to clean the air! Now they are much happier and it really helps with my allergies and with the dust accumulation in my home. We live near the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska and we have glacier silt (a very fine dust) which is difficult to deal with. This filter works great for helping cut down that silt.

I bought my Hunter air purifier 10+ years ago as a spur of the moment purchase and it's still going strong. These replacement filters work very well at removing dust and other allergens from the air. They are very reasonably priced, considering they are HEPA filters.

One tip I've found on my own is that, after a few months of use, you can use a vacuum cleaner attachment to pull off the top layer of dust/hair from the front of the filter, which will extend its life considerably.

The filter is well constructed of Aluminum metal. The water flows easily. One drawback is that if your water is hard like my well water, it will build up scales easily on the filter material. One needs to wash it with power wash on a monthly basis.

OXO Tot Bottle Brush with Nipple Cleaner and Stand

My wife and I have been searching long and hard for the ideal bottle brush. We tried several from the usual stores in our area. One was flimsy and hardly cleaned, another rusted quickly. We even tried that one with the sponge on the end. Well, just like any sponge, the whole thing needed replacement.

I saw the reviews for this sponge and decided to buy it. We have been using it for over a week now and I have to say that I like the bottle brush very much.

It is sturdy, cleans wonderfully and also looks very nice next to our sink. Aesthetics wasn't what we were going for, so I'll focus on function.

The brush has a nipple cleaner built into the handle that one screws out to use. But we can't seem to figure out this part. It's just a rubber stub... we were expecting a "mini-brush". The stub doesn't clean efficiently, doesn't make sudds and frankly, doesn't make sense.

We were looking for the ideal bottle brush/nipple brush combo, but it looks like we will have to keep looking. We still use this to clean the bottles, but use our older small brush to clean the insides of the nipples. So much for consolidation.

In the end... it's a good product, but, just what's with the nipple cleaner?

This is durable bottle brush, but it's quite large. I purchased the brush hoping to use it with the bottles that came with my Medela Pump In Style, and it's far too large for that. It will work perfectly with large bottles with wide openings. Unfortunately, it's too big if you're going to be using it for small bottles.

bristle head a little too soft (bristles are bent out of shape < 1 month of use; maybe i press too hard?)

nipple cleaner not very practical, it doesn't get into every nook and cranny i'd like, so i have to use a separate little brush for some parts

stand could be heavier/wider so it's not as easy to tip over

Overall a good bottle brush and I'm happy with my purchase. I just wonder how long it will last since bristles are already getting bent out of shape.

It is a good, functional, good looking bottle brush. I like it is soft, so you do not get all splashed while pulling out of the bottle. Goes inside of necks of various sizes. Stand is handy too.

This brush is nice and soft so it won't scratch up your bottles but it still scrubs thoroughly. I really like that the nipple cleaner is a solid piece of rubber, it seems more sanitary than the usual kind.
