I have been using these silicone beads in one form or another for a long time. I typically have bought them in bulk and put them into a Tupperware container. The Plexiglas cube that contains the beads is very well executed and the unit does a great job of maintaining appropriate humidity.
We have used several types of humidifiers in different dwellings. Cabinet styles with a rotating drum. Those emitting a mist. Even a built-in system with a gas furnace. This Venta system is the best of all. It is whisper quiet, easy to refill, and seems capable of humidifying an area much larger than the rated 800 sq ft. We keep ours next to one of the main vents into the central part of our house heated by a heat pump and the entire house seems comfortable. Strongly recommended.
