Jarden Consumer-Domestic Demineral Cartridge Sdc2300 Humidifier Chemical & Accessories

Jarden Consumer-Domestic Demineral Cartridge Sdc2300 Humidifier Chemical & AccessoriesI purchased a Sunbeam ultrasonic humidifier and, knowing I have very hard well water, ordered the demineralization cartridge. Initially I really didn't know if it helped but also figured it can't hurt.

I recently purchased a second identical humidifier for another room. I did not immediately order one of these, and was shocked to see the amount of white dust in the room. Since installing a cartridge in the new humidifier I have noticed a significant decrease in the white dust.

Finally, a couple of thoughts. The demineralization is accomplished through a chemical process, it is not a "filter" and as such visually it looks like water would just bypass it. This makes sense as the minerals are soluble and not floating in the water. The lifespan does not seem to be that great. A continual usage may only last a month or so. Again, I have extremely hard well water (no softener), so your mileage may vary.

The Sunbeam Ultrsonic Humidifier that I purchased January 2010 produces a white substance from the outgoing mist that coats furniture and appliances. I was disappointed that this Sunbeam Cartridge did not filter out the white substance elements. I use city water to fill the Humidifier. Any suggestions?

this absolutely DOES NOT WORK. Using a glass tv picture tube with all static removed, I ran ultrasonic with and without filter. Barely noticeable change.

the hell with ultrasonic humidifiers unless you have easy access to constant supply of distilled water. other wise this filter is junk

I was hoping this would minimize the white dust from my humidifier, but it doesn't seem to help. What did help was switching to distilled water.

The illustration doesn't show it but there are holes in the cartridge that let the water through without going through the filter media. Therefore I knew before I installed it that it wouldn't work but I wanted to give it every chance. If it reduces white dust at all it's not by much. Waste of money.

#4335 Aprilaire Feed Tube with Compressor Sleeve

#4335 Aprilaire Feed Tube with Compressor Sleeve
  • For use with Aprilaire models 400, 400A, 400M, 500, 600, 600A and 600M.
  • Includes tube, orifice, strainer, ferule and compression nut.
  • This is the water feed tube inside the humidifier, which connects the solenoid valve to the water distribution tray.

The tube is too short for my Aprilaire. The ad information said it would fit my unit, but it doesn't.

Not happy.

When I first received this the small white ring would not fit over the grey tube at all. After contacting the seller they promptly sent me another set and the white ring was correctly on the tube. After getting this resolved the install was straight forward.

After install be sure to test the water flow to make sure it is at a fast drip. Even though the directions say to run your water valve completely open, some homes will have too high of water pressure and push more water through the tube than needed.

I broke the feed tube to my aprilaire humidifier while performing maintenance on the water grid inside. This part was an easy to install replacement. Works very well.

Bionaire Cool Mist Humidifier with BONUS 4 All Season Filters

Bionaire Cool Mist Humidifier with BONUS 4 All Season FiltersWe bought two of these from BJ's in the winter of 2009 so have used them two winters now. The one we have says "with permanent filter". You are only suppose to have to wash them with soap & water which we have done & it says if they get discolored that is fine but it's not and they DO have to be replaced they are not a permanent filters. The filters are horrible and need to be replaced often.

I bought these free standing ones so they didn't have to take up space on dressers etc. So I like the floor standing design and also liked the small area on the bottom where the water sits in the base of the water area because we have some iron in our water (we do have a whole house filter system though for the iron) but I clean the inside of the water part alot and some you can't fit your hand up inside them and this one you can ( I checked before leaving the store) and the area to wipe clean is small so that part I liked. To fill these is a pain in the butt and you can't set it down after filling because it will tip over. When filling it's hard to hold and it gets heavier as the water fills it up. It won't sit like at the bottom of the tub under the facet you have to hold it. It's too big to fill at the bathroom sink so we fill at the tub.

36 hours run time; definitely NOT true it has to be re-filled each night and we even shut ours off during the day when we are at work. We only run it on low because like other's have said the fan is very loud, it's not a quiet fan lol so anything beyond the low setting is just way too loud.

Also what others say about the digital humidity level's; they do not work either it always reads the same even if the heat isn't on blowing or the room does not have high humidity or low humidity.

The water does disappear from the unit each night so it must be putting some moisture into the air but I wish I had not purchased these. :) Kind of disappointed as the info on the box etc sounded so good. And when you e-mail Bionaire regarding these or call they do not seem to care & do not get back to you.

Probably will not purchase a bionaire product again.

It has good features and is relatively good looking. It has a smaller floor footprint and can fit in a corner pretty well. The filters though need replacement every three months or so and they aren't cheap. And they can grow mold on them if you aren't on top of replacing the filter. If I had a re-do I would hesitate to buy this one again.

Its a space saver,it work well but the filters will need to be replace. The instructions say wash in soap and water, but after doing so it wont get as clean as a new one.plus it only lasted about another week before i had to go buy a larger filter and cut it to size then it work properly . IF THE FILTER IS MADE OF STANDARD FILTER PAPER THEN IT NOT A PERMENANT FILTER. PS chicago has hard water its really bad on water filters.

This little humidifier works well for an average to large sized room It is easy to refill the water. It's easy to take apart and clean. The controls are easy. It has a meter to tell you when the filters are in need of replacing. It has a small footprint, so it can fit in a lot of places out of the way, maybe in a corner. It's attractive, for a humidifier. It's reasonably quiet, even on high, for a humidifier. The quality of the materials seems good.

It takes 2 filters that each measure about 5"x 5.3/4" x 1". I used it last winter, and the filters lasted about 2 months. Fortunately, it came with replacement filters, which lasted the rest of the winter. I used 2 sets of filters (4 filters total) over the winter (last winter). I have read that some people use more than that over the winter.

It looks like they cost about $5. per filter, give or take a few dollars, depending on the brand and quantity per package. For me, that's about $20 per year for each unit. I have two units, so that's $40 per year for filters. I suppose that's OK, but I think they should cost less.

I am looking for some type of bulk wicking material that I can cut to size. If I find something good, I will return and post my findings. If anyone reading this knows of some alternative, please let us know, thank you.

This humidifier is advertised as having "reusable" filters, you can just wash and re-use. This is not true; not only does washing them only give you about another day's use, the filters have a very short lifespan in general, compared to other wicking humidifiers.

I do like everything else about this humidifier and I've just decided to stock up on filters. The built-in humidistat read-out is very useful in and of itself.Holmes HWF100 Humidifier Replacement Filter, Set of 3

Doulex Mini Coffee Cup Mist Humidifier USB powered

Doulex Mini Coffee Cup Mist Humidifier USB poweredHave recently had to have a humidifier in my bedroom at night to help with sinus problems in the winter. Wanted to have that same benefit at work, but did not want big, bulky or drippy machines. Received this at Christmas and I love it! It really cranks out lots of cool vapor mist with no noise and absolutely no condensation on the desk or papers. Everyone has commented on how cute it is. My sinuses are happy and so am I.

I got LASIK and got a nice big humidifier for my home to help battle the dry eye discomfort that comes with getting LASIK and I never had a problem at home but at work was a different story. It was so dry at my work place that my eyes would get so dry that they would start to have a burning feeling so I bought this cute little humidifier to sit at my desk and it is great!! It is nice and small perfict for sitting on the desk. It is so quite you forget it is even there. I bought it for my eyes but have also noticed an improvement in my breathing, my nose doesn't get as plugged up and I see a difference in my skin I don't need to hardly use lotion or chapstick anymore it is so nice!!

The spring/cotton/sensor didn't work well after a refill. The stream of mist turned into puffs of mist. I tried replacing the cotton nothing...I have to tilt the lid to make it work (yes it was opened. It was the only way the sensor door stays all the way open). The sensor was not working correctly. When the little slider is open all the way, it works great. If they can improve on the product, I think it will be awesome. Great concept, bad parts & lots of typos in the instruction.

My office manager ordered about 5 of these for those of us who wanted some around our static-heaven office. We all squealed with delight at the great little "cup" design. Setting it up was an hour of fun for all, as we had to muddle through "Engrish" instructions and do a little tailoring for each machine to get it to function properly. The tricks that worked for some (gently poking the silver top where the mist was supposed to appear from with a pencil tip, jiggling the plastic shaft that holds the filter, etc.) didn't work for others and one simply didn't work straight out of the box, no matter what we did (I believe we got a working replacement for the crap one). Mine worked excellently, pouring out a fine, cold mist for just under 3 months, and then abruptly stopped, with the cup still full of water. The replacement refill didn't start it going again and none of the previous tricks worked. After that, when plugged in, the lid would heat up scarily, though nothing else would happen. Honestly, the cup design is brilliant, but you get what you pay for (I think my office manager snagged them for about $10 each) and if you really want something that will function efficiently for a long time, this is not the product.

After reading all the reviews I was hesitant to buy this product but still decided to give it a shot.

The only positive about this product, if it would have worked, is the look of it without looking inside. I received the product, followed the very hard to understand instruction with poor grammar and spelling errors, and tried it on 3 different computers but this little cup just won't even turn on! I would have to say this company probably has zero QA process so it's kind of hit or miss, and I'm joining the zero star group.

Wish the next person buying it good luck...or just stay away from it!
