The filters I received are certainly not up to the Kaz quality I am used to. These are generic replacement filters (somewhat similar to the Kaz brand) but not as dense. Of course the advertisment did not say they were generic! It says,"WF1 Kaz Replacement Filter" which is what I am used to buying except those were made by Kaz. So,of course I didn't get what I thought I was going to get. Honesty in advertising is a lost art! I'm tired of being a patsy for e-sales gimicks!

I was surprised to find that this not a genuine Kaz wick, though it is listed as aftermarket in the product description. The actual manufacturer is BestAir, and the box indicates it fits KAZ models 3000, 3300 and 3400 but not the EV710 that I have. The quality seems satisfactory it is steel-reinforced which I don't remember the original being.

It may not need to be cut down to size as mentioned in at least one other review.

I read another review before purchasing this item and agree. With it being advertised as WF1 Kaz Humidifier Filter, one would expect the original design which it isn't. However, it does function just as well and the price is much less that the name brand. The shipping speed was qucik. I will purchase this item again and recommend it to others.

This is a very nice product that can be used to set the ambiance of a room, freshen the air, and help you to relax or to add humidity to the air for your health. The unit uses a 2.4 MHz ultrasonic piezo activated diaphragm to atomize the water and fragrance that you put into the water reservoir. It releases a fine mist of water or water and fragrance to create the ambiance you want according to how you are feeling.

In addition you can turn on the internal LED lighting system and add color to the experience that is really attractive. My wife fell in love with this humidifier immediately. You add water into the chamber and it will hold up to 500 mL of water. The side of the tank is clearly marked to indicate the number of mL of water in the tank to help you mix in the right amount of fragrance oil. We used distilled water. You can also add fragrance and you can purchase many types to suit your favorite fragrances or mood. You add 2 or 3 drops of fragrance per 100 mL of water. The fragrance oils are not included in with the humidifier.

The AC power adapter is UL approved and it is rated to operate on 100 to 240 VAC and 50/60 Hertz. You can turn on the accent LED lighting and it is very attractive. The light colors will change from white to green to yellow to red to purple to blue and start over again. It changes colors about every 5 seconds. The light can also be turned off. The unit can be set to operate for 60 minutes, 120 minutes and 180 minutes or continuously. To set the operating time you have to press the mist button multiple times to get the setting you want and a LED will light up and indicate the setting you have selected. The unit will not operate the atomizer without water and it will shut off when it is empty. You can set the unit to generate mist and create mist at a high or low rate.

If you are not going to use the unit for a while it is advised that you drain out the water in the tank. You can also wash the inside of the tank with a mild detergent and dry it but do not submerge the unit into water. The top of the unit is made with PP plastic and the base is made from ABS plastic.

This beautiful and functional unit has many applications for your home or office and it fits into any setting. You are generating this aroma mist and or humidity without heat by using the ultrasonic piezo diaphragm that is safe and quiet to use. Not using heat on the fragrance helps produce a mist without heating and changing its smell.

I was supplied a unit for test and evaluation and I promised to provide a fair and honest review.

I've searched for a multi-function diffuser for a long time. MIU COLOR Diffuser meets my needs. I can't wait to try it once I received it, and its function is a big surprise for me, which is out of my expectation! Outstanding and wonderful! Here are some points which impress me the most:

1. Simple and Stylish design. I ordered the white one, there's no paint on it, looks simple and environmental friendly. This kind of design will more or less help you ease down easily.

2. Up to 500ml water tank capacity. Compared with other humidifier, this amount of water will keep this product work for almost 10 hours. I don't need to add water several times a day. Moreover, there is a measure cup in the package. With it, I can easily add water to the water tank and reduce risk to damage the diffuser.

3. LED Color Changing Lamp Light. This diffuser has about 7 colors, such as blue, green, yellow, red, etc. When I press the LIGHT button for the first, the colors changes cyclically. Press the button again, I can choose the exactly color I like. I can adjust the lightness as well. I prefer the yellow one, which produce a warm atmosphere and the lightness helps to sleep. If you have kids at home, I can assure that they will love this colorful light and think it is interesting.

4. Four time setting modes. Based on my needs, I can set the time from 60minutes, 120minutes, 180minutes, and ON (means Continuous operation). Press the MIST switch, the MIST function is on, and I can set up the timer, each time I press down this button, the timer will be changed. The green light will indicate which timer I am choosing.

I've been looking for a while for a diffuser that could improve my sleep. The reviews show it was worth to try. And now it was about two weeks, proving to be a great aroma diffuser. It is smaller than I thought, but a suitable size. It is easy to use with the instructions. Just open the top, add water and essential oil, put back the top and push the bottom. There are different light colors and settings, just one color or no color at all. Once open this little machine, the mist filled in my bedroom within a few minutes. Update:

After a day of figuring out what this machine likes, now I can get it to work consistently and I love it.

Love:

--That I can set the color to one color or color changing or off completely.

--That it runs for several hours

--That I don't need distilldr water (but I use it anyway)

--That it works to dispense a light mist or oil and water-when it is functioning properly

--That is has a timer or open-ended use

--it's not too loud. Operates with a low hum and a light drip sound (like a fountain) from the inside of the unit. It just adds to the relaxing ambiance and we can sleep thru these mild sounds.

Don't love:

--it's made in China

--That despite the premium price, I had to do a lot of trouble shooting to make it work consistently

--There is no perceivable difference in the high vs low setting

Troubleshooting:

--the first few uses, I had to make sure there was between 200 and 400 mL of water to work

--I had to unplug and replug the AC adaptor into the unit between uses.

--it doesn't like extension cords and will let you know but making a weird beep

it is easy to clean,I love this so much that I bought another. and it Works Great!The colors change or you can choose a color to stay on, or no color at all.It is also relatively quiet, and defusing the oils is perfect. Remember to use filtered water, and to clean base and lid. Once you figure out which button does what, you'll see its simplicity. Bionaire Cool Mist Humidifier with BONUS 4 All Season Filters

We bought two of these from BJ's in the winter of 2009 so have used them two winters now. The one we have says "with permanent filter". You are only suppose to have to wash them with soap & water which we have done & it says if they get discolored that is fine but it's not and they DO have to be replaced they are not a permanent filters. The filters are horrible and need to be replaced often.

I bought these free standing ones so they didn't have to take up space on dressers etc. So I like the floor standing design and also liked the small area on the bottom where the water sits in the base of the water area because we have some iron in our water (we do have a whole house filter system though for the iron) but I clean the inside of the water part alot and some you can't fit your hand up inside them and this one you can ( I checked before leaving the store) and the area to wipe clean is small so that part I liked. To fill these is a pain in the butt and you can't set it down after filling because it will tip over. When filling it's hard to hold and it gets heavier as the water fills it up. It won't sit like at the bottom of the tub under the facet you have to hold it. It's too big to fill at the bathroom sink so we fill at the tub.

36 hours run time; definitely NOT true it has to be re-filled each night and we even shut ours off during the day when we are at work. We only run it on low because like other's have said the fan is very loud, it's not a quiet fan lol so anything beyond the low setting is just way too loud.

Also what others say about the digital humidity level's; they do not work either it always reads the same even if the heat isn't on blowing or the room does not have high humidity or low humidity.

The water does disappear from the unit each night so it must be putting some moisture into the air but I wish I had not purchased these. :) Kind of disappointed as the info on the box etc sounded so good. And when you e-mail Bionaire regarding these or call they do not seem to care & do not get back to you.

Probably will not purchase a bionaire product again.

It has good features and is relatively good looking. It has a smaller floor footprint and can fit in a corner pretty well. The filters though need replacement every three months or so and they aren't cheap. And they can grow mold on them if you aren't on top of replacing the filter. If I had a re-do I would hesitate to buy this one again.

Its a space saver,it work well but the filters will need to be replace.The instructions say wash in soap and water,but after doing so it wont get as clean as a new one.plus it only lasted about another week before i had to go buy a larger filter and cut it to size then it work properly . IF THE FILTER IS MADE OF STANDARD FILTER PAPER THEN IT NOT A PERMENANT FILTER. PS chicago has hard water its really bad on water filters.

This little humidifier works well for an average to large sized room It is easy to refill the water. It's easy to take apart and clean. The controls are easy. It has a meter to tell you when the filters are in need of replacing. It has a small footprint, so it can fit in a lot of places out of the way, maybe in a corner. It's attractive, for a humidifier. It's reasonably quiet, even on high, for a humidifier. The quality of the materials seems good.

It takes 2 filters that each measure about 5"x 5.3/4" x 1". I used it last winter, and the filters lasted about 2 months. Fortunately, it came with replacement filters, which lasted the rest of the winter. I used 2 sets of filters (4 filters total) over the winter (last winter). I have read that some people use more than that over the winter.

It looks like they cost about $5. per filter, give or take a few dollars, depending on the brand and quantity per package. For me, that's about $20 per year for each unit. I have two units, so that's $40 per year for filters. I suppose that's OK, but I think they should cost less.

I am looking for some type of bulk wicking material that I can cut to size. If I find something good, I will return and post my findings. If anyone reading this knows of some alternative, please let us know, thank you.

This humidifier is advertised as having "reusable" filters, you can just wash and re-use. This is not true; not only does washing them only give you about another day's use, the filters have a very short lifespan in general, compared to other wicking humidifiers.

Hydrosorbent Silica Gel Dehumidifier 200 Gram Reuseable

Silica Gel is a great product for keeping your valuables drysuch as tools, clothing, jewelry, guns, coins and other valuables. This product works well as represented. It is basically, nothing more than a sack filled with silica gel beads within an outer cardboard box. I use this to keep an area of about 10 cubic feet dry and it seems to be working effectively.

What many purchasers may not be aware of however, is that the silica beads are impregnated with cobalt (II) chloride hexahydrate which is used as an indicator for the presence of moisture in desiccants. The beads eventually will change color from blue to pink when moisture is present in the air, signaling that it is time to recharge the beads (shown by an indicator card resting on the bottom of the container). Unfortunately, cobalt chloride is classified as a carcinogen by the IARC, and it is both toxic and corrosive when exposed to water. Therefore, you should not tamper with or expose the beads to water.

Ideally, you should look for desiccants which use only non-toxic compounds for its indicators. I understand that other manufacturers now use an orange compound which is far safer than cobalt (II) chloride. I believe this warrants your attention before considering purchase.

PROS:

1. Extremely effective-Replaces units requiring power to reduce moisture.

2. Convenient Moisture indicator on box changes color when its time to recharge.

3. Extremely easy to use-simply open the bag-no other prep needed.

4. Very cost-effective: Much cheaper than purchasing other comparable products.

5. Product can be recharged and re-used many times by heating in oven for 3 hrs.@ 240 degrees F.

CONS:

1. Works slowly when used within about 5 cubic ft. of the rated ceiling range of the product. Better to purchase a larger size, especially given the cost differential.

2. The silica gel beads contain Cobalt (II) Chloride, a class 2B carcinogen.

3. Recharging process is time/energy intensive-3 hours in a 240 degree F oven.

4. If the box, beads and/or bag are compromised in any way, the product can lose effectiveness and can become a legitimate health and safety hazard.

I bought a hydrometer to measure the humidity levels in an enclosed, air-tight cabinent and this stuff does

reduce the humidity. From 60% to 40% in my case. Adequate for my mold prevention requirement.

I use this in a medium sized gun safe. It works perfectly. As described, when the indicators change color all you have to do is bake in the oven to dry it out. I just did this for the first time a week ago. It worked as advertised, and it is back in my safe.

We bought this humidifier and were really happy with it for five weeks. Then, one night, my wife noticed a burning smell in my son's room. Was it his new night light? Nope. The space heater? No again.

It was this cute little humidifier. It's cute, at least, until it emits a burning smell. One night later, I turned it on to see if it was any better and it was not just giving off a burning smell, but actually smoking, too.

Needless to say, we don't use it any more.

So, I'm a college student who spent this winter in an old campus house with an overactive heating system. Our bedroom was so dry that our door shrunk and we regularly woke up with cracked lips and nosebleeds. We needed a humidifier, but didn't want to spend big bucks on one that might only get used for one season. The kids' humidifiers are cheaper than the more powerful "adult" ones, and this one got good reviews, so we got him and named him Flippy.

He's pretty good at his job. We turn him on full-blast at night and he puffs out clouds of cool steam until morning. It's not enough that the room is humid, or even normal moisture levels (it's a REALLY dry room!), but he definitely does help. If you fill him up, he'll easily run for a whole night, and you can adjust the amount of moisture he puts out. It's enough to make a difference in a small-to-average bedroom, but might not be practical for a large room.

It took a few tries for him to really "warm up," so to speak, and really produce that big, visible stream of cloud, but after a few days, he got the hang of it. We like him. The only problem we had was that he has a bright orange LED on the side to tell you when he's on, and it was a little bright for us, so we had to cover it up in order to sleep. He isn't loud, and the little humming noise he makes is just a little white noise that doesn't disturb sleep or anything. I could see it being irritating if we kept it on day and night, while we were trying to talk and study, but it's fine for the night. We have a couple fans going in the room anyway (Did I mention our heater?), so it's not even the loudest thing in the room. It's quieter than a desk fan.

We just fill him with tap water, so he's developed some hard water buildup (I think?) that I'm not sure it's practical to try and clean, so that's too bad. It's not causing problems, though, so we don't particularly care. I'm sure you can be fancy and use distilled water or softened water or something if you're worried about a little white buildup forming.

I think he'd be fine for a child's room, or even immature young adults like ourselves. We don't need him anymore (not so dry now that it's Midwestern summer), but I'm keeping him around in case I ever catch bronchitis or something. Or for next winter. I think he'll be handy. And he's very cute, especially when he's on and the cloud is billowing out from his blowhole. I recommend Flippy if you need a little extra humidity for a smallish room.

My son loves this humidifer! It helps that he picked it out with me on amazon (he's 2 1/2 and very bossy). It's smaller than the Crane Cow we had before, so we fill it every other day. But because it's smaller it doesn't take up as much room, it hasn't spilled or leaked, it's very stable, the hum is pretty generic white noise expected of any humidier but it actually glugs less than our old one did, it humidifies well in a good arc, and did I mention my son loves it? He gets excited about us filling it "dolphin is thirsty!" and he loves turning it on and off himself. Oh, and yes, that little indicator light is one of the brightest lights I've ever seenbut my son decided he really likes the light, and that it's "supposed" to be a night light. So anywaythanks!

Great price for this fantastic items, very quite and smooth operations. The only cons is the operating light. It is bright orange light at night, I didn't mind it because I see it as a night light at sleep.
