Cigar Caddy Travel Humidor (5 cigars)

Cigar Caddy Travel Humidor
  • Durable plastic
  • quality foam insulation
  • 2 locks to ensure security

I got this for travel and it's awesome. Keep cigars fresh and protected for long time and the box is really tough (believe me). Can hold 5 churchill size cigars and even ones of more diameter such a magnum 50. Just as advice: use 2 or 3 drops of distilled water to fill the humidifier and keep the cigar humidor closed.

This is what I exactly needed. I misplaced my 2 cigar case humidor and decided to get this one to carry more cigars. I was a little worried it would be too bulky for my golf bag, but ended up being just right. Perfect for all my outings.

This humidor fits my large Churchill sized cigars with some room to spare. It also packs fairly compactly. The construction is excellent. It is definitely waterproof, and crush proof to a point. I have no fear for my cigars being mixed up with a bunch of heavy excavation tools and rocks, but I wouldn't put it over a train's tracks or anything.

Have had at least one of these for a couple years, just replaced one I gave to my son. I don't like the tiny foam humidifier in the lid (not because it doesn't work, I just don't like it), so I keep a humi-tube in the case. With that, it works super. Haven't tried seriously long-term storage, but cigars will keep for a few weeks at least, and don't get crushed bouncing around inside a bag or under the car seat.

Great product. Arrived a few days after ordering. The product was exactly the same as the item described. Would order this again from this company.

Aprilaire 24V Sensing Relay, 50

Aprilaire 24V Sensing Relay, 50After my furnace-mounted humidifier stopped working, I did a little troubleshooting and determined that my orginal "#50" relay was the culprit. I've fixed a couple problems with my furnace over the years and this is most definitely a DIY fix so long as you are able to determine that it is in fact a bad relay.

What this relay does is ensures that the humidifier only runs when the furnace blower is running. If replacing an old one, simply wire it the same way the original one was wired. If it is a new humidifier installation, follow the instructions included with the humidifier and/or this relay.

I got this to go along with my Honeywell (360A?) whole house humifier. The first one they sent me did not work. But, with only an email request, they shipped another one quickly with an apology for my inconvenience. I'd do business with this company again.

If you get the Honeywell humidifier, you really want this relay or you'll waste a lot of water keeping the element wet while the furnace fan isn't running.

Product arrived quickly and worked great. I have a Honeywell bypass style whole home humidifier that used a sail switch to make sure you weren't wasting water if the fan was off. The sail switch always had problems and never really worked well. This product will save me water and should be reliable since there are no moving parts to break.

The relay is now installed and has worked well. Resonably priced and quick delivery seals the deal. Thank you for having this product available.

I added a humidifier to my forced air furnace in order to bring up the humidity in our house to reduce the shrinkage on our new hardwood floors. Cracks between the boards were starting to appear due to the low humidity during the winter. Researching reviews of various humidifiers, I found many complaints about motor failures on drum type humidifiers and also complaining that the humidity never got as high as they wanted. The wiring diagram supplied with most of the humidifiers does not include an AC current sensing relay such as this one. They connect the drum motor in series with the humidistat, directly to 24vac from the furnace or from a separate 24 volt transformer. With this connection, if the humidity never gets high enough to satisfy the humidistat, the drum motor will run 24/7/365 (continuously) and probably fail prematurely. I added this AC current sensing relay in series with the humidistat and sense the AC current going to the furnace fan motor. With this configuration, the drum motor only runs when the furnace fan is running and the humidity is below the set point of the humidistat. Works great and I have increased the inside humidity about 15%.

One note: I tried to test the current sensing relay before installing it. I used a volt-ohm meter to verify that the circuit was closing when the AC blower motor was running. The volt-ohm meter never detected a switch closure like I expected (dry contacts of a reed relay?). I went ahead and wired it into the 24vac circuit and it worked fine. So, the device is not a set of dry contacts as I had assumed, rather an active circuit that needs the 24vac to operate. I resisted the urge to tear it apart and see what was inside.

As a side note regarding the humidifier: I chose the drum type humidifier since it consumes less water than a flow through type. Water usage is a concern out here in the dry western states.

Honeywell HC26P Whole House Humidifier Pad

Honeywell HC26P Whole House Humidifier PadHoneywell makes 2 different pads. HC26P1002 is made out of paper and coated with an anti-microbial coating. HC26E1004, which costs more, is a clay pad with Agion coating, the coating is silver ion anti microbial, not just plain anti-microbial. I like the clay product better.

Great for the price. The pad is made of paper, but since you should replace it every year that is not a problem. The do make a aluminum pad, but it is not really necessary and just adds cost. The paper pad is coated with something so the paper does not fall apart.

Replaced a whole house humidifier pad that had been in my Honeywell HE265B for about two years. This pad is easy to install but it will be made of plastic and seem a little less robust than the aluminum pad that you may be replacing. The recommendation is to change the filter twice a heating season so this may be a more cost effective alternative than its aluminum alternative HC26E1004.

Galleria End Table Humidor

Galleria End Table HumidorThis humidor is the centre piece for any aficionado. Elegantly designed and constructed. Is has a pull out dividing draw on top which in my opinion is not needed. To my surprise it comes with a power pack so you can hook up an electronic humidifier if you need to. It has a cut out hole for the power pack so no cutting needed and also four screws to put it in place.

A word of advice. When putting the power pack in its place place some clear silicon around it to seal up any gaps . Remember if you have gaps then the humidity will escape . You MUST do this before you season the humidor . Place some clear silicone on the outside too and from the inside just to be 110% sure you seal up any gaps and let it sit over night to cure.

As this is curing grab a damp scent free cloth. Be sure to use distilled water . Wipe down all areas in the humidor including all trays and dividers. Place 3 short shot glasses of distilled water only on the bottom , middle and top ( in the tray ) and leave for a few days until the humidor seasons and the cedar has stabilized .

The only thing that I don't like about this is that the top draw doesn't lock it just stays shut. Only the bottom door locks and is held in place by magnets which is nice.

It says it holds 600 cigars but if you are like me and like to smoke 60 x 6 size cigars you will probably fit 450. 600 cigars if you only store small petite cigars ( Acid blondie belicosso or Arturo Fuente Hemingway ). Or plenty of room to store your cigars in there original boxes

All in all I highly recommend thus product . It looks nice and should do the job of keeping humidity intact if you look after it and season it well enough
