Honeywell Top Fill Cool Mist Humidifier
I noticed a difference the first night using this unit. The wick filters already do seem a bit dirty after just a few days, so I will edit my review if need be re: filter changes. The manual says wicking should be changed 1-2 months depending on water quality, usage & dust. I have 3 dogs & 3 cats, so we'll see about the dust factor
Pros: really puts out humditiy. I did use a hydrogemeter to test it
runs almost 1 1/2 days on low setting before water needs to be added
easy to set up/use
no mist spray to damage furniture/floors
nice water trickle sound, not loud
unit self-regulates humidity according to levels in room
works well in larger bedrooms/living rooms and still compact design
Cons: night light is bright blue, doesn't bother me, but may bother some
water noise. Again, I like a running water sound, but others may find it bothersome at night
possible frequent wicking/filter changes
A clear winner in my book, does what it's supposed to do and does it quickly! I've had great nights sleep since this purchase.I bought 2 of these at a local Goodwill and love them. they are in a living room and an office area so the waterfall sound is not bothersome, nor the blue light. I am pleased and i only paid $15 each used.

I liked this unit when I originally purchased it. I set it on a tile floor and even my cats who don't care for loud noises weren't bothered by the sound of the water pumping. About 3 weeks after I purchased it the water stopped pumping and the motor (fan?) started making a horrible grinding noise. Sometimes if I played with the motor and reseated it the water would start flowing again but not for long. I called the company after cleaning it and changing the filters, they told me to take it back to the store and exchange it. I have had the 2nd unit for 2 weeks now and it's doing the same thing!! I have never let it run out of water and only use bottled culligan water in it. Honeywell Customer Service told me this is a 'top of the line' model. REALLY?? This one is going back also, for $50 I should have gotten something that lasts at least 1 winter.Read Best Reviews of Honeywell Top Fill Cool Mist Humidifier Here
Second day of using this unit barely feels like it is putting any water in the air the Blue light that it casts on the ceiling is bright (and rather annoying) and it sounds like I have a waterfall and a noisy one in my room the whole time this thing is plugged in. The motor also makes a rather loud noise... as soon as I find the receipt this is going back to the store. Not worth the money.First of all, I'd like to say that this humidifier is very convenient to refill. That is the only positive thing I can say about it. The unit has a water pump which has to be properly seated or it won't work. If I want to keep our unit working, I have to constantly reseat the pump every couple of hours when it stops pumping water. This humidifier is also very loud and we have to cover up the bright blue light in order to sleep with it running. We are returning it today for a different brand after one week of use.Saturday, August 2, 2014
2200 Accordion MERV 10 Aprilaire and Space-Gard Replacement Filter (2 Pack)
You need to remove the old filter from the plastic case and reassemble the case with the new filter. There are instructions how to do this on the filter replacement, but it is pretty self evident how to do it. The simplest way to put in the spacers is this: Put the first spacer near the middle of the frame. This will require a bit of work to make sure each filter fold is in the proper place of the spacer. Put the second spacer right next to the first one. This is easier because the first spacer will hold the pleats in the proper position. Then slide the first two spacers apart slightly and put the third spacer in between them. This step is very easy. Repeat for the last two spacers. Finally, slide the five spacers to their final positions, indicated by notches on the plastic case. This product arrived promptly and it was easy to install. I took the new one out of the box and put the dirty old filter back in the box. No mess, no dust.

This is what I normally order though my heating dealership, and only get one for for the same price. It is not a cheap version either.Nice packaging. Perfect fit and easy to replace. A 2-pak so you have enough to last you for a year.Want 2200 Accordion MERV 10 Aprilaire and Space-Gard Replacement Filter (2 Pack) Discount?
This is a good replacement filter. As far as I can tell, It is just like the original. I'm not fond of the accordian style as it is hard to get all the fins in the right place. Just takes some patience. I think it is helful to start with putting one divider in the center and slip the other next to center one. After that, you can slide them over to their postion and snap them in.I still prefer the electronic air cleaners.

Gold Cigar Humidor Humidifier 6.5" X 2.5" Rectangle
I had previously written a pretty bad review for this product. I had ordered it from overseas and it took forever to arrive. Once it did it barely had beads inside of it. I voiced my concerns to John at CIS and he went out of his way to correct the issue. He sent me a new set as it turns out I had received a faulty one initially. I have been using it for about a month and it is working great. I recommend the product and also note that the customer service is very good from the company.

This is what I exactly needed. I misplaced my 2 cigar case humidor and decided to get this one to carry more cigars. I was a little worried it would be too bulky for my golf bag, but ended up being just right. Perfect for all my outings.Read Best Reviews of Cigar Caddy Travel Humidor (5 cigars) Here
This humidor fits my large Churchill sized cigars with some room to spare. It also packs fairly compactly. The construction is excellent. It is definitely waterproof, and crush proof to a point. I have no fear for my cigars being mixed up with a bunch of heavy excavation tools and rocks, but I wouldn't put it over a train's tracks or anything.Have had at least one of these for a couple years, just replaced one I gave to my son. I don't like the tiny foam humidifier in the lid (not because it doesn't work, I just don't like it), so I keep a humi-tube in the case. With that, it works super. Haven't tried seriously long-term storage, but cigars will keep for a few weeks at least, and don't get crushed bouncing around inside a bag or under the car seat.Great product. Arrived a few days after ordering. The product was exactly the same as the item described. Would order this again from this company.Monday, February 24, 2014
DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier with Patented Pump
It's the pump stupid! Why haven't all dehumidifiers been designed with automatic pumps from the get-go? Did appliance designers think that a homeowner would gladly trade a dry basement for the chore of emptying a bucket of water every day?
The initial set-up was relatively easy after I read the instructions twice. The controls are understandable and fairly intuitive.
This is a smart dehumidifier compared to the older manual dumbbells I have owned. The display reads your room temperature. The unit can be set on auto, to run until it brings the humidity level in percent numbers down to a level you decide. It can be set to run for a selected time period or just run continuously at one of its two different speeds, high and not quite as high. It has delayed start and delayed stop if desired. If you choose to not pump the condensate to a nearby drain or out the window, don't turn on the pump, and it will fill its built-in bucket instead. All this and energy star rated to boot.
The pump works well. The supplied condensate hose, which is 3/8" OD clear vinyl, runs up a corner wall in my basement about 8ft, then about 8ft more along the ceiling of my adjoining laundry room, and 4ft down into a laundry tub. I did have to add 8ft more hose to make the distance, but the pump handles it all very nicely. I bought this model for the pump and I consider this purchase as one of my better moves. It has been running 24/7 for about 6 weeks, and I just forget its there. My fingers are crossed.
The only negative features (in my opinion) are that the hose for the pump comes out the front of the unit near the base and the tiny wheels don't lift the unit high enough up off the floor to run the condensate hose under the unit towards the back so its not so visible. My current DeLonghi (40 pt) has gone on the fritz so I bought the newest model DD45P. The sensors on the old one (6 years old) have gone wacko, and the defroster (heater coil) seems constantly engaged, thereby pumping out super heated air... not good during the summer months here in the Northeast where 90 degrees+ has become the norm. The new DeLonghi arrived last week and has a more compact design than the old one, seems to be performing well, however, the 2 speed fan is problematic to me. DeLonghi should have stayed with the 3 speed fan as on the older models; that would REALLY have improved the "quiet" factor. Also the 24 hour timer feature is laughable... please, for this price, let me program more than one block of time. I love the pump, however, as an owner of a previous model who has taken the old one apart, be warned that what is growing inside the older unit has got to be unhealthy!!!! Yuk! If only replacement parts were made available at a reasonable price, my old one could be kept working! I need 2 for my large basement area, so I think I will be buying an additional one of a different brand to see if it performs any more efficiently and lasts longer!

The unit itself works great, except...When I was researching dehumidifiers, the description of the DD45P said it has a 24-hour timer. I was under the assumption that I could program it, for example, to run for 8 hours, stop for 8 hours, run for 8, stop for 8, etc. In other words once I programmed it would maintain that cycle continuously until I turned off or changed the timer. My previous LG dehumidifier worked that way; I could program a continuous cycle. But not the DD45P. The program works for just once cycle; you have to reprogram it at the end of the cycle if you want it on timer again. And that's not the worst. You program it to start when the unit is in off mode; enter the number of hours after which you want the unit to turn on. However, to enter the number of hours after which you want it to turn off, you must wait until the unit turns on. You can only enter minimum increments of 1/2 hour for both on and off. So here's the scenario: Go down to the basement (where most people keep their dehumidifier), program it to start in 1/2 hour, go back upstairs, go back downstairs 1/2 hour later to program the turn off time. Repeat this daily or multiple times during the day if that's what you want. Of course you can run it without a timer; it then runs 24/7. But for energy-saving purposes a continuous timer would be nice.

The unit is very effective at removing moisture from the air. But the fan continues to run after the desired humidity is achieved. This in my mind is not very energy efficient. Also, the unit has a timer which you can only program the run time i.e. (turn the unit on. program the length of time you would like it to run and then it shuts off.It will not turn on again until you manually turn it on). I think a clock that you could program the on/off times would be a better feature.Want DeLonghi DD45P 45-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier with Patented Pump Discount?
DEHUMIDIFYING ABILITY: Absolutely fantastic. It has lowered the humidity in my downstairs (roughly 1000 sq. ft) from 65% to 45% in roughly an hour at 68 degrees Fahrenheit.NOISE: It has a low and high speed. On low, it sounds like a pedestal oscillating fan on high. On high, it sounds like a typical window air conditioning unit on high. I know these are inexact measurements, but what I am trying to convey is the noise does not bother my wife and I at all.
EASE OF USE: I am a technically inclined person, but I can't see anyone having any difficulty operating this unit. There is a power button, timer button (for delayed start and shutoff), Pump (for toggling between tank and pump modes), Humidity + and -, and display button. Pretty self explanatory what all of these buttons should do.
FEATURES: The built in pump works fantastic, and the ability to use it in tank (manually empty tank) and free drain mode makes it universal for all consumers. My biggest (only really) complaint about this unit, is the timing function which I will discuss below:
TIMER FUNCTION: This feature is pretty terrible. You can only set the unit to shut itself off on a delay when it is currently running or have it delay starting when it is currently off. There is NO scheduling an on and off time and certainly no days of the week settings. This will be a deal breaker for a lot of customers, however I am able to simply turn it on several times per week manually.
CONCLUSION: If the unit had even had a basic 1 day on/off scheduling timer, I would give it 5 stars. Overall, the price for what you get it good especially when you consider it has a built in pump.

MAF2 Emerson MoistAIR Humidifier Wick Filter
I'm glad I bought two of the filters, as these will probably get me through this winter season. At $7.99 each, they weren't cheap, but Amazon had other similar filters at over twice the price. Shipping was prompt and I received my filters, using standard shipping, 6 days after I placed my order. Quite pleased with product, price, and service.

it is kind of universal where I thought it was an original filter like I had purchased on the previous seasonHard to find this filter in the local stores but my unit still works great and it's nice to be able to find the right filter for it at a reasonable price.
