Walgreens 809997 Humidifier Filter

Walgreens 809997 Humidifier FilterThis filter just barely fits inside the notches of the humidifier. The original company doesn't make them any more. This is the longest filter I've found.

It does hold it's shape/stands up and seems to work like the original one did.

Air-O-Swiss AOS 7017 Hydrostick

Air-O-Swiss AOS 7017 HydrostickI bought 2 of the 7135 humidifiers. I also bought extra silver sticks. Then, air-o-swiss substituted this POS stick for the original silver stick. Here's what I think. If you read this, it's only my opinion, not based on any independent research, but partly based on some rumors I read on the internet. Form your own judgement.

The original silver stick allowed silver to slowly come off, thereby inhibiting bacteria formation (meaning, you won't breathe in bad stuff). The new one is much smaller, just as expensive, and as far as I can see, I don't know what it does. Read the current description, which I quote as follwos:

This advanced water maintenance system keeps your humidifier operating at its highest level between recommended cleanings

Good for one year, the Hydro Stick ensures your humidifier's functionality while providing fresh humidification performance.

The Hydro Stick begins to function as soon as it comes into contact with water, even if the humidifier is switched off.

Using the Hydro Stick helps to maintain the appliance and improve the life expectancy of the humidifier.

Exchange the Hydro Stick a year after it has first been used.

Do you have any idea what that is saying? It says absolutely nothing specific about what it does. It reads like pure marketing verbiage, saying nothing.

The hydrostick clearly does not appear to have the surface area of the original silver stick. So what does it do, besides cost money? It seems like it's there to substitute for the original silver stick. Perhaps the original silver stick started costing air-o-swiss too much money, because silver price went up. Perhaps air-o-swiss was no longer permitted to sell this silver stick, for legal reasons. But whatever, I do not see any specific function associated with it, particularly when the description for the new demineralization cartridge talks about inhibiting microbe growth.

What do you think?

This new hydro stick doesn't work as well as the old (silver) stick. Using the old sticks & cleaning weekly worked great, but with this new hydro stick I've had to clean the humidifier every couple of days. The new hydro stick doesn't seem to be doing anything it's a total waste of money for me. I'd give it zero stars if I could. Sure hope they bring back the old silver sticks!

The hydro stick seems to work well and perhaps a bit better than the old product (ionic silver stick). It doesn't seem as well fitted to the machine, however (I have the AOS 7135 and it seems to float around instead of snapping in).

I'm very disappointed with Air-o-swiss on this joke of a replacement. I went to BBB for a replacement stick and to my surprise they were all gone. I was skeptical about the new hydrostick's antimicrobial abilities as it seems to be made out plastic. As suspected every few weeks I actually started cleaning moldy growth from my humidifier. I saw calcification build up with the silver stick but never mold or slime. Needless to say I'm very disappointed with this product and trying to figure out an alternative as I'm not paying another thirty dollars(with tax) for this product. Bring back the old one.

I completely agree with other reviewers that these aren't anywhere near as good as the original which came with my Air-O-Swiss humidifier. In fact, I'm not convinced they do anything at all. The original Silver Sticks were great at preventing slime and catching what little was produced. PLEASE bring back the original design.

I love my Air-O-Swiss humidifier, but after wasting almost $30 on this piece of junk, I'm not sure I'll be buying another when mine wears out one day. This really makes me wonder if Air-O-Swiss will soon be selling junky humidifiers, too.

The Ravello 300 Cigar High Gloss Humidor

The Ravello 300 Cigar High Gloss HumidorI am very happy with this humidor, the seal is great, and the finish is absolutely beautiful. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good place to store those sticks you want to season long-term.

This is a great humidor, I've visited many cigar shops and priced a dozen or so and this came out to be the most inexpensive by far. I use this as a travel humidor, its still light even with all of my cigars packed into it. I don't think it gets 300 cigars in there unless your packing them tight. So far I got probably 150 and running out of room. I take this to events and socials so we can get nice cigars already at that perfect humidity point. The front bottom drawers actually slide out, good place to keep cutters and punches along with torches ready for that smoke.

I was extremely impressed as I opened and set up this product. Honestly I was waiting for it to fall apart in my hands. Minor problems included the sticky foam missing from the ends of the dividers. Turned out they got stuck to different parts of the wrapping. Once I located them it was an easy fix. After reading other reviews about the humidification cases falling off the lid, I immediately applied gorilla glue to the magnets n metal plates. This worked in holding things together.. There is plenty of room inside and has remained at 70% since I set it up a month ago. I would highly recommend this product. I would have given 5stars if the humidification pads were better. These can be replaced on ur own so not a real problem. Quality definitely outweighs the price here.

What a beautiful finish! Great deal for a great humidor. I searched for a good amount of time to find the right humidor and the wait was well worth it. The two drawers on the bottom are very convenient for storing cutters, lighters, matches, etc. The seasoning set up was simple and I've been holding 75% humidity for a month without issue. Don't hesitate just buy it if you're in the market for a good size humidor!

This is probably the best bang for the buck in a humidor. Add a digital humistat, some glycol gel and your in business.

Bionaire BWF100 Humidifier Filter - 6 Pack

Bionaire BWF100 Humidifier Filter - 6 PackThese come in a six pack and are of really good quality. I am using them in my unit now and they are working as promised. Good price on these too.

These filters are not made by the manufacturer and thus do not have the little plastic rivet mentioned in the filter manual. However, I saw no difference in quality and they came at a great price. I would buy from them again.

Vornado Ultrasonic Whole Room Humidifier

Vornado Ultrasonic Whole Room HumidifierI live in Chicago where the winters get very cold and very dry. I finally decided to do something about it a year ago and bought a humidifier. I went through a series of 5 humidifiers before I finally came across the Vornado Ultrasonic, which has been the best by far.

I started with a cheap Holmes humidifier that basically boils water and creates steam. The problem is that the heating element gets caked with residue and needs to be cleaned just about every other day and it's very difficult to clean. It also tends to give off a rather bad odor.

After returning the holmes, I purchased a Vornado evaporative humidifier. What I've found is that evaporative humidifiers simply don't create enough moisture. The first Vornado was a bust.

My next attempt was a Sharper Image Ultrasonic humidifier, which is very simple to use, easy to clean and provides a good deal of moisture. Unfortunately, much of the moisture simply falls to the ground right around the machine. I wasn't 100% sold.

I returned the Sharper Image unit to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and found two typically expensive ultrasonic humidifiers on sale for half off. One was the Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifier http://www.amazon.com/Air-O-Swiss-32838-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/dp/B000J4I4RI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1262363031&sr=1-7 The other was the Vornado. I decided to get them both with the intention of returning the one that I did not like as much. The Air-O-Swiss is a very elegant looking machine with lots of controls and settings. At the top, it has a plastic piece which lets you control the direction the moisture flows (it can go two directions at once). I found that it had the same problem as the Sharper Image unit, but I placed it on a 2' plant stand, directed the moisture to either side and that seemed to keep the moisture from settling on the floor.

The Vornado Unit's settings were slightly more complicated for me to figure out, but we're talking the difference between 2 minutes and 5 minutes here. The Vornado uses a fan to push the moisture further up so that it evaporates in the air BEFORE it hits the ground. PERFECT! I don't have to put it on a stand or worry that I'll find water seaping into my hardwood floors. Where the Air-O-Swiss is super quiet, the Vornado has a fan (that pushes the moisture up) and thus makes a bit more noise. I personally don't find the noise distracting at all and neither does my wife. Noise aside, it is the fan that really makes this the perfect humidifier because this is the ONLY humidifier of the many I tested that actually seems to get more moisture into the air than on the ground. I wound up getting two Vornado Ultrasonic Humidifiers for my 1800 square foot condo and have noticed a substantial improvement. I highly recommend this product.

One last thing... both the Vornado and the Air-O-Swiss have filters, which is nice because you want to be filling your home with clean moisture.

The Vornado whole room ultrasonic humidifier works great. It is cheaper than the Air O Swiss and is quieter. Maintenance is a problem. The manual calls for a weekly time consuming ritual. Scraping off the mineral build-up is a chore. Finding a mineral replacement cartridge is difficult. I will probably try another product next year.

I bought the Vornado humidifier last week and after reading the review on Amazon was fearful that I had made a mistake. Much to my relief, I am quite pleased with the Vornado equipment. Although I am noise sensitive I do not find it noisy, indeed, it is less noisy than any humidifier I have had in the past. It uses about two gallons of water a day and has made a marked improvement in the quality of the air in my apt. Having woken up looking like the old woman in the shoe, I know just am old but have lost the withered effect of dry air. Since I havent cleaned it yet I cannot comment on its maintenance, but it is easy to show, not unattractive, and does not leave a puddle of water or other deposits of water anywhere (as did my other humidifiers). I would recommend it.

We've had this unit for just over a year now and it stays in constant use all winter. Overall we are happy with it but we'll probably look for different model when this one needs replacing. I have sinus problems and it really helps to have the ability to set the percentage of humidity and the unit just maintains that level automatically. Some might consider the number of options and buttons to be a bit excessive but you get used to it after a while, maybe its better suited for slightly nerdy types like me. I've had a cheap ultrasonic before that just didn't have the capacity I needed, this one has a larger tank and a small footprint which I like as our living room is small. I don't clean it as often as they suggest and it is a pain to clean for certain. You have to buy mineral cartriges for it which aren't cheap, I don't replace them as often as they suggest, only when I start to notice white powder building up on the mist nozzle or around the ultrasonic diaphram. You need to have a vacuum with a brush attachment for the hose to clean the various air channels as well, not a great design for maintenance purposes. I've never experienced any leaking on the floor as others have noted. For the money it's an acceptable product but I can't give it a ringing endorsement. We have a Vornado fan which is a fantastic product, this one leaves room for improvement.

We've tried a few different humidifiers and found that most of them break quickly, are loud, or have some other problem. This Vornado unit at first seemed perfect. It was quiet, did a good job of humidifying a large area and had a good filter that prevented mineral dust from building up in the room. However, after about a month it would randomly start leaking all of its water out. Vornado replaced that unit under warranty with a new unit and the same thing started happening after a month or two.

Eva-dry Renewable EDV-300/E-333 Wireless Mini Dehumidifer

Eva-dry Renewable E-333 Wireless Mini DehumidiferYou do NOT plug it in in the humid room. You plug it in when you want to RELEASE the collected moisture!

I've weighed mine repeatedly on a postal scale and the cyclic change shows it's working it will absorb and release about 1/2 cup (4 oz) of water.

Wow, am I impressed. This item delivers. I had a small safe that was getting musty and all the documents felt soft and damp. I charged up the Eva-dry, stuck it in and BAM! (Emeril Style) The next day everything was dry and crisp. I recharged the unit over night and stuck it back in the safe. It couldn't be easier!

And those of you who read the other reviews and see people write things about not being able to tell if the crystals are blue or pink, IGNORE THEM. The people that wrote those are obviously dumb or blind. This product couldn't be easier to use. If all the crystals aren't the same color, then either plug it back into the wall, or keep letting it do it's thing. Enough said.

Buy Eva-dry Renewable EDV-300/E-333 Wireless Mini Dehumidifer Now

This is the third one I've purchased (two were already in use in two separate cases doing a fantastic job). With having to care for vintage costume jewelry, these units are perfectly sized to fit in my showcases and not be an eyesore. Usually requiring a recharge every 2-3 weeks, I purchased the third so I never have a minute without one protecting my collection. Definitely great value considering what silica packs cost every 3 months. Anyone with a prized collection (whether it be paper, guns, gems or art) should seriously consider purchasing this product for smaller storage areas (safes, cabinets, etc).

This is the BEST mini dehumidifier I have seen. No Chemicals. No Batteries. No Fuss. Just hang it in the damp room mine is in the basement. When the beads turn pink, plug it into an outlet and it "burns out" the water, ready to be put to work again. It has completley eliminiated that damp, musty smell from my room.

This Dehumidifer is The handy`s thing I`ve ever see ..... I use the EDV-300 in a Fire Prof. Safe that I keep about $1000.00 worth of Gun Powder and Primers in . It works Very Well and keeps my powder And primers 100 % "DRY" ! It has a set of Blue BB`s incased in the front of it that tells you the unit is ready for use . It will last for about 2 weeks or so , then the BB`s in it will turn Pink and you can see a little mosture in the glass housing the BB`s , Which means the unit needs to be recharge , or dryed out . All you do is ..... Plug the unit into a wall outlet (110 Volt) for about 4 hours with the flop down and out plug on the back of the unit ..... When you see the BB`s Turn Blue again , un-plug the unit .... Flop the plug shut or Close on the back of the unit , And it`s ready to put back in My Powder Safe for about Two week`s . Does a VERY Good Job and O-Mosture in my Powder Safe ! ... this unit is Worth More than 5 *****`s .... It`s Worth 10*`s ... Wouldn`t Take Nothing For It .

Be Sure You Buy The Right Size EDV Unit For Your Size Safe and it Will keep the thing in Your Safe "DRY" ! I have a larger EDV Unit in a Gun safe that Works Just As Well .

Quality Importers Florence 20-30 Cigar Travel Humidor, Rich Cherry Wood

Quality Importers Florence 20-30 Cigar Travel Humidor, Rich Cherry WoodLove this Humidor. It took me a while to properly cure it but once I used the instructions from and it has been holding @ 70% since. Does a great job for a good price.

Great product, well seasoned, and very well sealed when closed. I just wish it were a little wider to compensate longer length cigars. Well worth the purchase.

holds humidity good, the hydrometer that came with it was off about 40% with a salt test. The adhesive that come with is does not hold at all and the humidifier does not really fit into the cut outs. My friend has one and has the same issues. Overall good humidor.

Both my husband and I love our cigars. We have a cabin that we bought and go to every weekend, unfortunately when we go we bring our weekend stash in a baggie. We do have a rather large humidor at home so I purchased this one for the cabin. It holds about 20 cigars, nice finish and has a fantastic seal. It was a little harder to calibrate but we finally got it right. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a smaller humidor.
