Honeywell H13002 Replacement Filter for Hoover Final Filter Self-Propelled WindTunnel Uprights

This filter is like the one that came on my vacuum 9 yrs ago except that it is white instead of grey. Like the original part, it has the rubber/elastomer gasket around the lower lip so that it seals and only allows air to blow through it. The latest genuine Hoover part that I ordered has no gasket and the air blows both through and around it (i.e. useless and for looks only). I highly recommend this filter if you are looking for a replacement final filter for your Windtunnel self propelled vacuum. It is MUCH better than the latest Hoover part. Thank you Honeywell!

I was having trouble finding locally the original Hoover filters for my Self-Propelled WindTunnel vacuum, so I ordered the Honeywell H13002 replacement filter from Amazon. It shipped from an Amazon affiliate, and arrived on time and with no errors in my order (two items). Seems to be basically the same product as the original filter, although I'm not certain that it fits quite as tightly. This seems to be a quality product as you would expect from Honeywell.

This filter is an intragal part of a very capable Hoover WindTunnel and is a better quality than what came as the original equipment manufacturer, (OEM) product. Definitely will reorder when this needs replacing.

They are easy to use and typically lasts a month or so for me. I use the with gel jar because I dont find the gel jar alone to maintain humidity levels all that consistent. Moist 'N' Aire Electronic Humidifier

Nothing but problems since the first day I had it. It does not regulate humidity at all, it's either on or off no matter what percentage is selected. I just recently replaced the hydrostat (another $50.00 wasted) and I still have the same problems. It has a mind of it's own! Sometimes it will come on, sometimes it won't shut off. Don't waste your time and money.

I use this to humidify a 12 bank humidified cigar locker in a very dry environment. Keeps the unit at a perfect 68 to 70%. Easy to fill and know when you are running empty. Highly recommended.

Hunter 31004 Ultrasonic Small Room Humidifier

This little machine is quiet, but very effective at outing out humidity in a 11 x 11 bedroom. I use distilled water and have no white powder problem that many humidifers produce.

I absolutely love this little humidifier. I have found it humidifies a large room as well as a small one, and very quickly too. I had to turn it down for the small room, or it would have been raining!! I moved it to a large room and it takes care of it perfectly.

Being small, it's so easy to fill and handle. No heavy container to turn upside down when it's full of water. I love not having a filter to buy. I highly recommend it.

It's a simple design pour the water in the reservoir and let the ultrasonic bust out the cool mist. Adjust your setting from low to high output and sit back and let the room get some humidity. Unfortunately, anywhere from 5-30 minutes into the usage, this device is going to think that there's no water in its tank and turn itself off. You've got to shift it around and let air bubbles out of the bottom for it to start back up again.

You'll continue this process until you've poured the water in the reservoir all over the outside of everything trying to make these bubbles escape so that the unit will resume functioning. I tried running it at low output to high output to see if that affected how long it would last before the bubbles would get stuck and render this thing useless. The output setting had no effect on it.

I returned this item. It simply has a poor design but I like the ultrasonic cool mist. You might hate ultrasonic mists. Even when it worked, the mist is so dense on some models that it immediately falls to the ground around the device and will soak your carpet within an hour. I turned on a ceiling fan though and it spread the mist around the room perfectly. Turning to a lower setting didn't really fix this problem (unlike how it DID fix in the Crane model mentioned next).

Summary: This Hunter unit is quite bad.

Recommendation: The Crane teardrop cool mist humidifier. It works perfectly totally quiet, simple and effective design, and most importantly setting the dial to a lower output allows the vapor to go into the air as opposed to soaking your surroundings. So I don't even need the fan on anymore! Crane is the best ultrasonic cool mist humidifier.

Having read the 5 star reviews, we bought 3 of these one for each bedroom. What a DISASTER! One just stopped working. No visible reason. The second puffed out white stuff and turned our flat screen white (it wiped off, but strange). Third one worked the longest, but there is a red light and a green light to indicate availability of water in the tank and it would be red all the time when full. YOu had to wiggle the tank on its base and it would realize there was water and start working again.

All of them went back to Lowe's.

Vornado Ultrasonic Whole Room Humidifier

I live in Chicago where the winters get very cold and very dry. I finally decided to do something about it a year ago and bought a humidifier. I went through a series of 5 humidifiers before I finally came across the Vornado Ultrasonic, which has been the best by far.

I started with a cheap Holmes humidifier that basically boils water and creates steam. The problem is that the heating element gets caked with residue and needs to be cleaned just about every other day and it's very difficult to clean. It also tends to give off a rather bad odor.

After returning the holmes, I purchased a Vornado evaporative humidifier. What I've found is that evaporative humidifiers simply don't create enough moisture. The first Vornado was a bust.

My next attempt was a Sharper Image Ultrasonic humidifier, which is very simple to use, easy to clean and provides a good deal of moisture. Unfortunately, much of the moisture simply falls to the ground right around the machine. I wasn't 100% sold.

I returned the Sharper Image unit to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and found two typically expensive ultrasonic humidifiers on sale for half off. One was the Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifier http://www.amazon.com/Air-O-Swiss-32838-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/dp/B000J4I4RI/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1262363031&sr=1-7 The other was the Vornado. I decided to get them both with the intention of returning the one that I did not like as much. The Air-O-Swiss is a very elegant looking machine with lots of controls and settings. At the top, it has a plastic piece which lets you control the direction the moisture flows (it can go two directions at once). I found that it had the same problem as the Sharper Image unit, but I placed it on a 2' plant stand, directed the moisture to either side and that seemed to keep the moisture from settling on the floor.

The Vornado Unit's settings were slightly more complicated for me to figure out, but we're talking the difference between 2 minutes and 5 minutes here. The Vornado uses a fan to push the moisture further up so that it evaporates in the air BEFORE it hits the ground. PERFECT! I don't have to put it on a stand or worry that I'll find water seaping into my hardwood floors. Where the Air-O-Swiss is super quiet, the Vornado has a fan (that pushes the moisture up) and thus makes a bit more noise. I personally don't find the noise distracting at all and neither does my wife. Noise aside, it is the fan that really makes this the perfect humidifier because this is the ONLY humidifier of the many I tested that actually seems to get more moisture into the air than on the ground. I wound up getting two Vornado Ultrasonic Humidifiers for my 1800 square foot condo and have noticed a substantial improvement. I highly recommend this product.

One last thing... both the Vornado and the Air-O-Swiss have filters, which is nice because you want to be filling your home with clean moisture.

The Vornado whole room ultrasonic humidifier works great. It is cheaper than the Air O Swiss and is quieter. Maintenance is a problem. The manual calls for a weekly time consuming ritual. Scraping off the mineral build-up is a chore. Finding a mineral replacement cartridge is difficult. I will probably try another product next year.

I bought the Vornado humidifier last week and after reading the review on Amazon was fearful that I had made a mistake. Much to my relief, I am quite pleased with the Vornado equipment. Although I am noise sensitive I do not find it noisy, indeed, it is less noisy than any humidifier I have had in the past. It uses about two gallons of water a day and has made a marked improvement in the quality of the air in my apt. Having woken up looking like the old woman in the shoe, I know just am old but have lost the withered effect of dry air. Since I havent cleaned it yet I cannot comment on its maintenance, but it is easy to show, not unattractive, and does not leave a puddle of water or other deposits of water anywhere (as did my other humidifiers). I would recommend it.

We've had this unit for just over a year now and it stays in constant use all winter. Overall we are happy with it but we'll probably look for different model when this one needs replacing. I have sinus problems and it really helps to have the ability to set the percentage of humidity and the unit just maintains that level automatically. Some might consider the number of options and buttons to be a bit excessive but you get used to it after a while, maybe its better suited for slightly nerdy types like me. I've had a cheap ultrasonic before that just didn't have the capacity I needed, this one has a larger tank and a small footprint which I like as our living room is small. I don't clean it as often as they suggest and it is a pain to clean for certain. You have to buy mineral cartriges for it which aren't cheap, I don't replace them as often as they suggest, only when I start to notice white powder building up on the mist nozzle or around the ultrasonic diaphram. You need to have a vacuum with a brush attachment for the hose to clean the various air channels as well, not a great design for maintenance purposes. I've never experienced any leaking on the floor as others have noted. For the money it's an acceptable product but I can't give it a ringing endorsement. We have a Vornado fan which is a fantastic product, this one leaves room for improvement.

We've tried a few different humidifiers and found that most of them break quickly, are loud, or have some other problem. This Vornado unit at first seemed perfect. It was quiet, did a good job of humidifying a large area and had a good filter that prevented mineral dust from building up in the room. However, after about a month it would randomly start leaking all of its water out. Vornado replaced that unit under warranty with a new unit and the same thing started happening after a month or two.

Santa Fe Compact 2 Whole House Dehumidifier (4033600)

My previous rental house in the rainy Pacific Northwest had a dehumidifier in the basement that kept it toasty dry so I was sold on the concept.

So I bought the Santa Fe Compact 2 for my new house running for around 2 months now.

Regarding function: It totally dried out the 800 sq ft basement. Before humidity was around 68%, the dirt in the crawlspaces was saturated, and there were beads of water under the plastic sheeting laid over the soil. Now the dehumidifer is holding the humidity down at 49% and the soil in the crawlspaces is dry. It's probably keeping moisture down overall in the house as the furnace exchanges air between the basement and the other floors, however, I haven't done any objective testing to see if this is true.

Regarding installation: I purchased the Santa Fe ceiling suspension kit and have the unit hanging from the basement ceiling joists. This works well at stopping any vibration. I can't normally hear it from the main floor although obviously your mileage may vary depending on the flooring material in your house. On a really quiet night I might hear it switch on and off, however, it's actually quieter than my 16-year-old furnace and the furnace condensate pump.

I ran the supplied condensate hose down to the furnace condensate pump. I needed to buy a $1 hose clamp (from the 'Orange Store') to properly secure the hose to the dehumidifier. It would have been nice if Sante Fe had included that. It's important to make sure that the hose immediately slopes away so water does not build up around the outlet, and also to make sure that the unit is level. At first I must have had some water flow back into the unit because it dripped out the bottom of the unit casing after an hour. Once I corrected the hose and leveled the unit everything was fine.

Regarding appearance: Overall the unit has a sturdy feel. I wouldn't describe it as beautiful appliance however it is definitely solidly engineered which I think is appropriate for basement equipment. It's presently listed under "Kitchen" on Amazon (which they might adjust at some point) however I would not put it in a kitchen or anywhere in a finished part of the house; there are other more appliance-looking dehumidiers that would be more appropraite for those locations.

I purchased this (not from Amazon) and I will tell you this thing really works. Previously, I owned an LG which was the absolute nosiest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I have a finished basement in a suburb of Philadelphia. I don;t have a huge problem with moisture, but I do have my fair share. My LG would work so hard to remove the little moisture that I had.

I found this unit and spoke to a distributor about why these were so much money! I thought that a $250 dehumidifier was sufficient for my basement, but the truth is that these cheap models just end up running up your electric bill, aren't really that great at dehumidifying, and break relatively quickly. If you get a few years, you're lucky.

I was tired of re-buying an appliance every few years, and I am a big believer in "you get what you pay for" so I decided to try this beast out. I was able to score this unit for $999 with Free Shipping from a distributor. I don't think they are allowed to advertise it lower than the MSRP but they gave me a great price considering they routinely sell for between $1100-$1200 pretty much everywhere you look.

After it was delivered I couldn't wait to get it hooked up. I have it sitting on a table and have the drain hose run into my condensate pump for my house heater/ac. These models do not have buckets to dump. They are so efficient and dehumidify so fast and so well, that it would fill up the bucket possibly every couple of hours.

The musty smell in my basement is now gone and the thing hardly ever runs. Initially, it did seem to run a bit in order to extract all of the excess moisture in the air, but now I rarely hear it turn on (more so in the summer than winter).

I definitely recommend you buy one of these models. I fully expect this to be the last dehumidifier I ever have to buy.

This is a great product and it's easy to clean. I don't have to worry as much about mold buildup because of the germ killing ionic light and no filter! This won't get slimy like other humidifiers do. I just clean it with vinegar and water and shake it around the tank, feel inside for a squeaky clean, and done! Enjoy it! It took a long time for me to research just the right one and this really seems to be it! :)
