While it was a little frustrating to put together as the plastic parts need to snap together and you need a screw driver to wedge the plastic base for the top to fit properly. Make sure you wait 30 minutes after filling, for the wick to absorb the water, as the fan won't work. Also be sure the over hang on the back of the wick filter is hung on the over hang at the back of the base unit. But we started with 34% humidity and in less than 24 hrs it came up to 50%. We used level 3 on the fan, as the higher levels are noisy, but at this level and result for what this product is supposed to do, it was great. Easy to fill, no taking out bottles, just pour into the reservoir. The humidistat on the unit registers too high. I put tape over it and use my small humidistat to measure the humidity. They could have left this part off. Anyway if you want the humidity to raise quickly, this is your item. A lot better than the old filter belt circular kinds.

I have had this unit for several years. It has outlasted all "Sears" brands and models.

Secrets to making it work: I use the 1041 wicks. Every two weeks or so, I take it into the bathroom, pull out the wick and using a hand held shower, spray off the wick thoroughly. This helps lower the mineral build-up and the wick lasts longer. Also I change wicks about every two months. So I need about three for the heating season.

Yes the electronic "humidistat" doesn't work. Simple, I set the unit to a higher humidity than what is displayed. When I want to run it, I turn the unit on. When I want it off, I turn it off. And I use a separate humidity gauge. This one works wonderfully:

As for noise, I only run it on the 2, 3 or 4 level. Yes, you can crank it up, but just like any fan, the more you crank it the louder it gets... and I can hear the TV just fine even when this is running...

It's much easier to carry a bucket of water to this unit to fill it up than clumsy bottles to drag out and carry elsewhere.

GREAT humidifier and I've had this one for several years and if I need another one, I'll hope to get another one of these.

Here's another hint. Don't mount it on the wheels that come with and then put the entire unit on a towel or carpeting scrap. Also helps if you spill a bit of water when filling.

Do NOT forget the bacteriastat either, but be careful when using this additive, as always. And yes, it is normal for the wick itself to be about half dry (at the top) and half wet (at the bottom). The entire wick does NOT need to be saturated soaking wet for this to work as the "well" of water is only the few inches at the bottom...

I paid 113 USD for this unit. It was awkward to use, and felt cheaply made. It did a fine job humidifying the house but the humidistat was broken. Its humidity reading would not drop below 50%, when other humidistats in my home were indicating 30%. According to it, the humidity level was about 60% ! I have found a review elsewhere indicating the same problem. I returned it and bought a unit for 70 USD that works much better.

I followed the instructions by filling the tank, turned on high, and never let it run dry. By mid day 2 the wick was 3/4 dry. The unit on high was so loud that it can be heard on all 3 stories of my house. In their defense, this was my first humidifier. It's going back tomorrow.

We've had one humidifier for 2 years and another for a year (put on on top floor and one on main floor). My only complaint is the sensor is too close to the unit so reads higher than it really is. We wrapped something around the sensor to keep it running. Works nicely and the sound level is perfect for us.

This really is a fantastic little set of oils. As other reviewers have indicated, the blends are neither too strong nor too weak; in most of the blends you can usually pick up on the "stronger" aromas right away (for example, in the meditation blend the sweet orange is quite noticeable) but never in an overpowering manner...all the components are very nicely balanced. To be completely honest, I simply cannot praise these enough. I've really enjoyed all of them. For those who have not the knowledge & experience (or the patience) for attempting to create your own blends, these bottles would have you really well covered. A couple of drops in your diffuser, etc. and the beautiful fragrances will lift your spirits.

Also a plus, you can tell that Eden's Garden is a smaller operation which really has a passion for its products. They shipped my order the same day and it arrived VERY quickly (unexpectedly quick, in fact). When I opened the package, they had handwritten "Enjoy" with a smiley face right there on the invoice! Might not matter to some but for me, I think it's really a nice little touch that can go a long way with a customer. Really a golden buy in my opinion...

I love this set of essential oil blends. The oils used in each blend really complement each other. As essential oils are meant to be diluted, these will last for a very long time. This company sent my item out immediately and it came in an adorable gift box. I think anyone using these will definitely feel pampered!

Aphrodisiac: It smells very earthy/spicy. It's a beautiful scent and I don't think that any of the oils overpower one another. I'm not sure how it works as an aphrodisiac, but I do like using this as a perfume when mixed with a carrier oil.

Breathe Easy: With a family full of seasonal allergy sufferers, this will be used a lot! I love the combination of oils in this blend. I've found that most company's that make a congestion-relief blend tend to go overboard with the eucalyptus. You can obviously smell eucalyptus in this, but it's not overpowering. It seems to help open up the nasal passages by reducing inflammation. I've added this to my toddler's bath before she goes to bed so she can sleep easier. My older children have used this in combination with a Neti-Pot so they could breathe at night. This is also perfect to use in a diffuser or in a homemade "Vicks" rub.

Renew: It's probably my least favorite of the blends, but it does make you feel more alert. I wish that this blend didn't use eucalyptus since I associate that particular aroma with congestion. My 11 year old likes this though as she feels that it helps her on test days. I made some into a spritz for her and she uses it whenever she feels the need.

Stress Relief: Seriously one whiff of this and you will feel at ease. (I think it's the grapefruit.) This is my favorite blend in the pack. I use this in my oil burner, in lotions, mixed in with coconut oil for my hair, etc. I have a son with an autism spectrum disorder and I find that this calms him when he's upset. Even though you can definitely smell the patchouli in this blend, it smells gender-neutral.

Relaxation: It smells basically like how you'd expect it to with a combination of chamomile and lavender. It is a sweet floral scent. It's kind of a classic. The lavender is full bodied and the chamomile is very soothing. (I've noticed that some chamomiles from other companies are a tad sickening, but this one is beautiful.) I made a homemade "bedtime" lotion with this blend and also add this to my toddler's bath to help her transition to sleepy-time.

Meditation: I haven't had the chance to use this oil out as often as I'd like, but this one is great for oil burners and diffusers. It smells like one would expect a meditation blend to smell like, or perhaps like a new-age book store. I'd prefer for the frankincense to be more prominent, but I still like this blend.

They came quickly in the mail (even shipped on a weekend) and arrived intact. They all smell very nice, seems to be good quality oil. My husband had some minor allergy flair up and used the Breathe oil in the diffuser he says it helped. I don't know how effective they are other than that but they do smell nice. With shipping it came out to a little over $4 a bottle which is a pretty good value; certainly cheaper than the closet place to me that sells these types of things.

Not only do I love this set.. my husband (the penny pincher lol) Thought this was a great buy! Our son took a cotton ball with a drop (ONE single drop) of Breathe Easy, put it in his headboard and was able to breath w/o the stuffiness the next morning. the Kevlar sleeves are for arm protection while i'm walking dogs at a shelter. i've been scratched numerous times and have been looking for a way to have arm protection without wearing long sleeves. while they are warm and sometimes make my arm sweat, the protection they provide is well worth it. they wash clean and keep their size. i'm very satisfied with the product.

I wish I didn't have to use these, but the area I live in has the hardest water I've ever encountered. Even with a water softener the minerals remain and create a huge amount of white dust without these. I had almost the exact same diffuser years ago. I used it daily and loved it. One day, the inner LED piece broke and that was the end. I couldn't find a replacement. I also could not find the same diffuser. I have been all around looking for something similar, and I just happened to find this nearly exact replica! There is a small improvement with this model -it has an on / off switch. My old one had no switch, it had to be pulled from the outlet.

So far, so good. It works just like the old one -an ever-changing rainbow of color and a fine mist helping my dry air. The bowl sits in a metal frame, the cord runs through the bottom of the bowl.

I knew what this product looked like but anyone unfamiliar should know that the bowl itself is a milky white, not colored as in the picture. The LEDs inside automatically change color and it cycles through tons of colors, green just one of many.

after i found it did not work ,( 3 little red llights came on, no other colors and NO MIST), I was sooo disappointed and just wanted to swap out the 'mister disc' for one that does work so i would not have to ship the whole thing back, but was not allowed to do that! I am now afraid to order another cause I see someone else had the same problem, so are they all defective?

I like this lamp and have even received some compliments. It doesn't seem to generate as much mist as I thought, or rather the mist doesn't linger as I thought it might, but it's still cool and the colors are great. May buy another. One should note that the mist is wet though and will leave moisture on a table. I think this is best on a corner shelf perhaps.

I was so happy to get this. got it all together and it won't work. Tried aND TRIED. Figure it is because it is from Germany and

the electricticy has something to do with it. My son in law is coming down to see what is wrong. If he cannot fix it I will ship it

These lamps are spectacular, smoke, colors. I love mine. You should use distilled water to prevent mineral build-up.One piece light and water pump is easily replaceable if neccesary.

Santa Fe Compact 2 Whole House Dehumidifier (4033600)

My previous rental house in the rainy Pacific Northwest had a dehumidifier in the basement that kept it toasty dry so I was sold on the concept.

So I bought the Santa Fe Compact 2 for my new house running for around 2 months now.

Regarding function: It totally dried out the 800 sq ft basement. Before humidity was around 68%, the dirt in the crawlspaces was saturated, and there were beads of water under the plastic sheeting laid over the soil. Now the dehumidifer is holding the humidity down at 49% and the soil in the crawlspaces is dry. It's probably keeping moisture down overall in the house as the furnace exchanges air between the basement and the other floors, however, I haven't done any objective testing to see if this is true.

Regarding installation: I purchased the Santa Fe ceiling suspension kit and have the unit hanging from the basement ceiling joists. This works well at stopping any vibration. I can't normally hear it from the main floor although obviously your mileage may vary depending on the flooring material in your house. On a really quiet night I might hear it switch on and off, however, it's actually quieter than my 16-year-old furnace and the furnace condensate pump.

I ran the supplied condensate hose down to the furnace condensate pump. I needed to buy a $1 hose clamp (from the 'Orange Store') to properly secure the hose to the dehumidifier. It would have been nice if Sante Fe had included that. It's important to make sure that the hose immediately slopes away so water does not build up around the outlet, and also to make sure that the unit is level. At first I must have had some water flow back into the unit because it dripped out the bottom of the unit casing after an hour. Once I corrected the hose and leveled the unit everything was fine.

Regarding appearance: Overall the unit has a sturdy feel. I wouldn't describe it as beautiful appliance however it is definitely solidly engineered which I think is appropriate for basement equipment. It's presently listed under "Kitchen" on Amazon (which they might adjust at some point) however I would not put it in a kitchen or anywhere in a finished part of the house; there are other more appliance-looking dehumidiers that would be more appropraite for those locations.

I purchased this (not from Amazon) and I will tell you this thing really works. Previously, I owned an LG which was the absolute nosiest piece of junk I have ever purchased. I have a finished basement in a suburb of Philadelphia. I don;t have a huge problem with moisture, but I do have my fair share. My LG would work so hard to remove the little moisture that I had.

I found this unit and spoke to a distributor about why these were so much money! I thought that a $250 dehumidifier was sufficient for my basement, but the truth is that these cheap models just end up running up your electric bill, aren't really that great at dehumidifying, and break relatively quickly. If you get a few years, you're lucky.

I was tired of re-buying an appliance every few years, and I am a big believer in "you get what you pay for" so I decided to try this beast out. I was able to score this unit for $999 with Free Shipping from a distributor. I don't think they are allowed to advertise it lower than the MSRP but they gave me a great price considering they routinely sell for between $1100-$1200 pretty much everywhere you look.

After it was delivered I couldn't wait to get it hooked up. I have it sitting on a table and have the drain hose run into my condensate pump for my house heater/ac. These models do not have buckets to dump. They are so efficient and dehumidify so fast and so well, that it would fill up the bucket possibly every couple of hours.

The musty smell in my basement is now gone and the thing hardly ever runs. Initially, it did seem to run a bit in order to extract all of the excess moisture in the air, but now I rarely hear it turn on (more so in the summer than winter).

I definitely recommend you buy one of these models. I fully expect this to be the last dehumidifier I ever have to buy.
