LG Electronics DH404E Dehumidifier

I bought this when I was living in New Jersey. It is my first dehumidifier and I may have been expecting too much.

It removes plenty of moisture and works great. When the bucket is full it shuts itself off. You have the option of connecting it to a hose and let it run indefinitely with no water collection. Don't set it on max, because a room that is TOO dry is also uncomfortable. You can set it as low as 40% humidity, and can increase this in increments of 10% to Max.

Main problem is that it runs very hot. It will heat the room in which it is placed. On a hot humid day the last thing you want is a hotter dry day. This is not one of those units you would want to put in your bedroom.

It is not really quiet. I don't know if it is quieter than other dehumidifiers, but it produces the same amount of sound as a room air-conditioner.

Purchaced unit for basement and it worked great for the first year & 1/2 but it no longer works properly. It seems the compressor doesnt work any longer. Fan works and the compressor is running just not getting the radiator cold to remove the moister, just sucking my electricity. I had to switch back to my old unit that I have had for approx 12 years and still works great once I fixed the switch. wish they still made them like that. LG is loosing in my mind. my 1 year old LG dishwasher is starting to piss me off now. NO MORE LG

This humidifier performed exactly as advertised, and I could set the humidity % level to whatever we wanted in our basement. While I agree that it makes the room warmer, this is not for bedrooms. this is for a basement that can stay cool naturally. This is not a room A/C with dehumidifier, which are differnt, and better for living areas.

So it performed admirably for 3 years in our damp (not wet) basement. Then this year, when we went to turn it on, it did not. Taking it apart revealed that the circuit board is shot. I am thinking of looking for a mechanical version next time, not digital. The controls were cool, but I don't need them. Now I probably need to replace the whole unit, as the repair would be $100.

HINT: we did not see that there is a removable air filter inside. This should be cleaned periodically (if even once a year) to keep the coils free. Like a frig.

So it worked great, lasted a few years, but not as long as I would expect for a relatively expensive appliance.

I had purchased the first one about 4 years ago. It did work well and did what is was supposed to do. I felt that it was not easy to dispose the water that gets collected in the container. Though it looks good and did its job, my main problem is it stops working after couple of years.

I again bought the same brand couple of years ago. It stopped working again now. The next one I am going to try something else. I do not believe this product is reliable. I thinks this also makes more sound, but since I did not try others yet, don't know if others will be better.

This is a fun item. And it really cute when it works. It just takes a pretty hot fire to get him steaming , otherwise he just has a drippy nose. In the two weeks I have had it on my wood stove I have only got it hot enough to produce steam a couple of time.

I was more than pleased when I received my hand painted ceramic/metal steamer. It is awesome. It has an excellent paint job.It works well and steam really does come out of the dragon's nostrils. What a hoot!

This item is cute to look at but does not perform the "steaming nostrils" function at all.

We tried several locations on our very hot woodstove but no results.

We have been in touch with the seller (3rd party) and she was very nice about return/ refund/ exchange.

Also was urprised that the top piece is only made of China glass, not cast iron like the bottom.

Could break on the first fall if you weren't very careful.

Cute piece to look at but the benefit was for the steam. Found this steamer does not emit enough steam with the cover on. With the cover off it produces plenty of steam.

I really like this heater.

Purchased because this model has a humidifer chamber.

I am not sure if the electric bill will be less with using this versus my HVAC unit but will see soon.

I actually purchased 2 for the downstairs: master bedroom with open bath and one for the living room with open kitchen.

I woudl give it 5 stars but the only thing that I don't like much is the size. It is a bit big to fit in the room i wanted. It does however state the dimensions so just make sure you are confortable with the size. It is not heavy but bulky for the application I wanted. It heats quickly and works great. No complaints on performance.

The product is not good as advertised. It is good only for smaller rooms definitely not good for 1000sqft etc.

Even we try to put it in smaller rooms which about 300 Sqft and does work as expected but it is good when the door is closed. We can not feel the heat more than 5feet on maximum heat.

Paradigm System

I was not really happy with these humidifiers. I think they are rated too high. As in the small one is rated for humidors up to 30 cigars and the one rated for up to 100 cigars had trouble keeping humidity to 65% +(maybe 1/2 that amount?). and they seem to not work very well with the recommended distilled water. They seemed to do OK with 50/50 mix of glycol, but at the price seemed to defeat the purpose for buying these in the first place! You be better off sticking with the old style foam humidifiers, or step up and get an electric one. Which is what I did with my large humidor.

I purchased this for my home humidor which holds about 40 cigars, but since this is recommended for up to 30 cigars had to buy another to compensate. It works well, seems to keep my humidity level at where it needs to be. I would recommend it to anyone serious about their cigars.

I've had multiple humidifiers for my humidor and had constant trouble keeping the optimum humidity level. The paradigm system has made it easy to keep my cigars perfectly preserved. Now, when I order cigars online, I throw them in the humidor for a few weeks before smoking them. I can definitely taste the difference. I would suggest you make sure to buy the right size for your humidor though. I bought the smaller paradigm originally and had trouble keeping the humidor at the correct humidity level. However, I've had no problems since I bought the larger model.

Germ Guardian TableTop Humidifier, Model H1000

It worked great for a few months, then the fan started making strange noises. I tried to clean it out using compressed air, but it didn't help. Eventually, the fan quit turning on altogether. Works well, but not for as long as I would have hoped.

I am very impressed with this humidifier. It is the perfect size for a bedside table. Easy to set up and refill. Has a very fine mist that lasts all night. Shuts off automatically when refill is needed.

I'm a new mom and I can pay for anything that good for my baby.

I bought the Germ Guardian H1000 Ultrasonic Table Top Humidifier month ago.

Love the design, not too heavy to refill the water.

However, after been using it about a month, one day, the red light came up at front, so it's time to refill the water.

I picked the blue toppart up then the blue light inside went off and I smelled something burning inside of it. I thought it was ok to use it without the blue light.

But NO !!!!!, right after fill the water and put it back. It's not working any more.

Maybe I got the defect one, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it.

I would stick with other bulky humidifier which is a lot safer.
