This filter, works very well with the humidifier we have, but the instructions are not clear on everything you need to do to make it work well. It has to be soaked for 15mn and then thoroughly rinsed so that it works properly. If you do not rinse it,the humidifier shoots a not very pleasant yellowish mist that fills up the environment. Other than that, it has been a very good product.

If you have a humidifier, it would be unwise to pass up using a demineralization cartridge. It saves you the headache of nasty gunk and mold that builds up in your humidifier. I agree wholehearted with other reviewers about the benefits of using this cartridge.

For the first one that I used, it lasted me about 25 or so days (or in short, I noticed little in the way of gunk buildup during that duration of time) before I felt the need to change the cartridge. My second one lasted about the same amount of time as well.

I have to point out, it is very important that you soak the cartridge thoroughly before adding it to your humidifier. For me, after taking it out of the package, I soaked it in a bowl of cold water for about 15 20 minutes before taking it out for use and so far I've had no problems whatsoever.

If you want to save yourself some headaches, I strongly recommend using this product in conjunction with your humidifier.

The Filter arrived covered in mold. Needless to say I do not reccomended buying from g&s drug co. Stay away from these guys.

The cartridge that came with the vicks humidifier only lasted about 10 fillings (they claim 30-40). I think it would be just as cost effective (and easier) to just buy distilled water to use in the humidifier, and skip the filter cartridge.

I bought these two days ago. The smaller unit was for my bedroom and the larger one for my daughter's. She is a baby and has started rubbing her nose and eyes and is stuffy. So I bought these units in hopes of cleaning the air. In just two days I have noticed she is breathing easier.

A special note, the larger unit was loud. It had a high pitch kind of rattling sound. My husband pulled the filter out, messed with some wire or other and now it is whisper quiet, like the smaller one.

Good buy overall. A little pricey on Amazon but my daughter is sleeping easier which was the whole point.

I use one of these in a room on the first floor and one in my bedroom. They are pretty quiet but not silent. The higher you set it the louder it is. They really seem to help with dust and such in the air.

Easy to use, melts off the calcium deposits if you follow the directions, but don't wait too long between cleanings or you'll have to use multiple applications.

I had tried several other descaler products and found them to work only superficially. It always required a long soak and then it was never really clean. The light indicating the unit needed to be cleaned would back on in no time. This stuff cleaned it perfectly with one application. I'm just going to keep a supply of these on hand now.

This cleaner did exactly what was expected. I had some green mold like substance in my humidifier (Air-O-Swiss). After using this product, the mold was gone and so was a moldy odor that was coming from the device.

I've tried cleaning my humidifier with vinegar, soap, etc. Nothing has gotten rid of the musty smell coming from my humidifier like this packet. You add this to about a liter of hot water, pour it into the base of your humidifier (I have an Air-o-swiss), let sit for 30 mins and pour out. When I turn on my humidifier, the air smells fresh and clean.

This is as simple as a product gets....it helps keep your expensive Air-O-Swiss investment running in tip top shape. We have multiple humidifiers around our home by Air-O-Swiss and we have well water where we live. Naturally the units can get mucked up pretty quickly...but using a pack of this stuff once every 2-3 months keeps them running perfectly fine...
