Honeywell/Kaz Home Environme De-Mineralize Cartridge Dc Humidifier Chemical & Accessories
For the first one that I used, it lasted me about 25 or so days (or in short, I noticed little in the way of gunk buildup during that duration of time) before I felt the need to change the cartridge. My second one lasted about the same amount of time as well.
I have to point out, it is very important that you soak the cartridge thoroughly before adding it to your humidifier. For me, after taking it out of the package, I soaked it in a bowl of cold water for about 15 20 minutes before taking it out for use and so far I've had no problems whatsoever.
If you want to save yourself some headaches, I strongly recommend using this product in conjunction with your humidifier.

This product is amlost impossible to get in local stores. Arrived very quick, in grate shape. Price was good and it saved me tons of time to look at the local vendors. The Filter arrived covered in mold. Needless to say I do not reccomended buying from g&s drug co. Stay away from these guys. The cartridge that came with the vicks humidifier only lasted about 10 fillings (they claim 30-40). I think it would be just as cost effective (and easier) to just buy distilled water to use in the humidifier, and skip the filter cartridge.Wednesday, April 23, 2014
PerfectAire 30pt Dehumidifier, PA30
Even in air-conditioned environments, the humidity can be higher than ideal, making residents uncomfortable and leading to slow bathroom towel drying and mold buildup. As someone who lives in the prewar high rise building with a mediocre HVAC system, I purchased the PerfectAire 30 Pint dehumidifier to provide more granular control over the humidity both during the day and while I am sleeping. While its dehumidification capability is excellent, the unit's blower may be a noisy for light sleepers. It registers 50-52 DB at about 8 feet away, which is equivalent to a relatively loud window air conditioning unit.
Another "downside" to this dehumidifier and any similar model is that it uses a sizeable amount of electricity and generates a substantial amount of heat. Depending on the setting, this dehumidifier consumes ~330 watts to ~420 watts, which generates heat directly. But this electrical consumption is only one source of the heat generation.
Just as water evaporation cools ambient temperatures, condensation generates a net positive amount of heat. For air conditioners, the excess heat is vented outside of the building. For a standalone dehumidifier, both the electrical heat generated by the motors and heat of water condensation, which can be equivalent to hundreds of additional watts of thermal energy, are exhausted directly into the residence. The one upside to this heat generation is that it can be utilized to both warm and dehumidify a bathroom. This reduces mold growth and makes the bathroom warmer when the user exits the shower, making it logical to use in the winter if placed in an enclosed bathroom.
The portability of this unit enables myriad creative uses beyond directly improving human comfort through dryer ambient air. With both its drying capability and heat generation, the unit can be used in:
1) Drying clothes such as those that should not be place in a dryer
2) Accelerating the drying of the carpeting after cleaning
3) Dehumidifying and heating a bathroom
4) Prevent air conditioning systems from freezing over
For item #4, I have seen this dehumidifier prevent A/C units from freezing over both in central systems and large window units. For the latter, it is possible to channel the dehumidifier exhaust directly into the intake of the air conditioner. This arrangement has enabled temperatures below 65 degrees without ice formation. At the same time, the PerfectAire knows if its own coils have frozen over and will stop the compressor and blow air to melt the ice.
In terms of performance, I have tested this dehumidifier in various environments in medium and low humidity, monitoring both the water generation and electrical consumption. In medium humidity environments (40 50%), it generates between 17 and 23 pints per day. On a per gallon basis, it requires about $0.47 to $0.61 worth of electricity per gallon of water condensed by the unit. In one test of a cold, dry basement (~35% humidity, 67 degrees), the PerfectAire consumed over $1.17 of electricity to generate one gallon of water. In this application, however, it was placed there to reduce A/C coil freezing, not necessarily to dehumidify.
The PerfectAire 30 Pint dehumidifier is a solid value for those seeking a somewhat portable dehumidifier. Potential buyers might want to consider the noise it generates if they plan to use it in close proximity to where they are sleeping.
Pros
Hose attachment for continuous usage
Easily portable
Determines if its own coils have ice formation and initiates a melting process
Cons
Too loud for some applicationsWhere I live we get a lot of fog from the ocean.
The house is old and the windows produce a lot of moister inside the window sills.
I get a bucket full of water every other day just from my bedroom, even during most of the summer months. (I couldn't believe how much moister was in my bedroom I was buying for the bathroom but because I found some mold by the window of my bedroom, I tried it in my room and ended up buying more when I saw how much it collected from the bedroom alone)
It also helps with reducing some of the staleness of the air since it is not a trustworthy neighborhood and my windows don't have security/bars, the windows aren't opened enough to get all the staleness out.
I have had them for almost a year I bought them from a local hardware store. Of the 3 I bought one had to be exchanged because it was faulty it would turn off and on only when it felt like it mostly off. But the replacement has worked fine and I have had no problems with any of the 3 I have now.

Good size for a Large 5th wheel. It mainly runs at night, and when we cook. It does pull a significant amount of moisture out, but, still put damp rid buckets in closets where the air doesn't circulate well.Read Best Reviews of PerfectAire 30pt Dehumidifier, PA30 Here
I bought this for a 4 foot crawl space that was at about 78 percent humidity. I connected it to an outside drain and it brought it down to about 45 percent in three weeks. A much nicer environment and this will help stop the mold that was created by the moist environment. It works really good, I had to set it on a box in order to be able to drain above grade, the wheels were a problem since in setup to hook up the drain it fell a couple of times craking the corner of the unit so I took the wheels off and thankfully still works great. Have had it for a couple of months and overall I am pleased. By the way the crawl space was approx 1200 sq ft.We bought this dehumidifier at Ace. It is still working well in 2012. Humidity control is nice. We let it drain, and attached a hose to an outlet.Saturday, January 25, 2014
Classic Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser
I LOVE this one. So easy to use. Quiet. No glass and tubing everywhere. I've been switching oils right and left and all I have to do is dump out the little water that's left, wipe it out with a clothe, and I'm good to go.
I plan on getting a 2nd one for my work office!I purchased this diffuser, not through Amazon.com, just a few days ago. It's an adequate diffuser for a small to medium sized area. It's attractive and quiet. I especially like the automatic shut off when the water level gets low, however, I would NEVER run this all night or any other time when it would be unsupervised.
My only problem with it is the cord. I don't see why they couldn't put a real electric cord on it. It has an "adapter" which is very large (2"x3"), awkward, heavy and gets hot as a pistol, so that is worrisome to me. The other end, that fits into the diffuser, is one of those single prong things like for gadgets that go into a computer.
All in all, it cost about 3 to 4 times what I would think it's worth, but most things are way too expensive for what we get these days.
Since I haven't had this very long, I can only hope it will hold up.
Update:
After using this twice, for several hours each time, I decided to clean it. I made the mistake of leaving it set, with the little leftover water/oil overnight. I found the oils had left a distinct ring around the water level in the bowl and it was very hard to clean off. I used vinegar on a paper towel (a soft cloth would work as well) and I had to do a lot of rubbing to get it clean. The clear plastic lid also has spots, apparently oil, that I've not been able to clean off. The little flat piece that they call the "umbrella cover" comes off if you just pull straight up on it, so it's easier to clean.
It would be nice if it had better instructions. The booklet says "occasional cleaning will be required" and also "clean the unit after every use with a soft cotton cloth."
So I've learned the hard way; clean it IMMEDIATELY after it's turned off and EVERY TIME I use it. Do not let it set because the oil residue will harden.
I REALLY don't like the adapter! I make sure it's unplugged after I turn the diffuser off.

A wonderful diffuser. Works well and beautifully. I will buy 3 more. Efficient use of oils, just 3 -5 drops.Cuts off when near end of water. Great price for the functionality. Very pleased with this product. It is prettier than the picture. Don't need the cap they supply for the center opening, was very nice they sent a small vile of Lavender EE oil, Which is the best, next to PURE JASMINE. Pure Jasmine is expensive, best use other aromas, like the diluted Jasmine, and what ever aromas you like.

This diffuser is amazing! It takes just 3-5 drops of EO to diffuse over many hours. It has a timer (I use the 40 seconds off, 15 seconds on setting), intensity control, power button, and a light control also. I love it!It was very easy to setup which I appreciated. I was excited to get it up and running and was pleased that it took very little effort. It's quiet and unobtrusive. I decided to keep the blue light off, but can understand why someone would want to use it. I haven't had it long so I can't speak to its durability, but it appears to be a solid unit for someone just getting started with diffusers. I purchased Eden's Garden Synergy Blends Sampler Pack to accompany my purchase and couldn't be happier.Saturday, January 4, 2014
Space-gard And Aprilaire #4330 Aprilaire Scale Control Insert
Buy Space-gard And Aprilaire #4330 Aprilaire Scale Control Insert Now
I bought this as a replacement for my Aprilaire model 760. I bought with a filter and the scale filter as a kit. The filter did fit but the insert and tray did not. I went on again and see it now listed for Aprilaire 600. I am not sure if this was a mistake or not. This part came up as a suggested item when I purchased the filter so it may be linked to the filter by mistake. At any rate, I await a reply and will update if they send the right parts. As for the filter, it works great. The old insert was not defective, just a little dirty. I'd still replace it because it's original and the unit is old...but it works.Read Best Reviews of Space-gard And Aprilaire #4330 Aprilaire Scale Control Insert Here
